Macaulay Culkin, the beloved actor known for his iconic role as Kevin McCallister in the "Home Alone" series, recently sparked a wave of laughter and nostalgia on Twitter. A tweet interaction between Culkin and a user named Lawrence Ward has caught the attention of fans and media alike. The exchange is centered around a humorous petition for Culkin to reprise his role as the cunning child, despite now being in his late thirties.

In a tweet dated September 7, 2019, Macaulay Culkin (@IncredibleCulk) humorously addressed the petition with a tweet stating, "I have a big problem with this petition... I’m actually 39 years old." The tweet was a response to Lawrence Ward’s (@LawrWard) petition, which read, "Disney are remaking Home Alone. This is a petition for them to re-cast 38 year old Macaulay Culkin as 9 year old Kevin McCallister and have nobody in the film acknowledge it."

The interaction quickly became a trending topic, with fans flooding the comment section with their own witty takes and support for the idea. One user joked, "Same idea, but everyone but Kevin is a muppet," while another suggested, "Kevin is the wet bandit trying to take back his childhood home after falling on some hard times." These creative and humorous responses showcase the lasting impact of Culkin's role and the continued fondness for the "Home Alone" franchise.

Some fans even pitched their own sequel ideas, with one comment reading, "I like the idea of him as an adult rent-a-cop, protecting a museum from his arch nemeses Harry and Marv." Another fan expressed their excitement, saying, "I don’t care. I will watch it."

The nostalgia doesn't stop at "Home Alone." Commenters also reminisced about other iconic roles from Culkin's career. One user shared their desire for a "My Girl" sequel, starring a grown-up Vada, played by Anna Chlumsky, who encounters the ghost of her childhood friend, Thomas, portrayed by Culkin.

Not everyone was on board with the idea, though. Some users pointed out Culkin's age, with comments like, "He's 43. That's how old this is," and "We aren't respecting his boundaries, he's a human. Please don't forget that."

Despite the mixed reactions, the overwhelming sentiment was one of affection and admiration for Culkin. One fan even admitted, "Had such a crush on him when I was a kid... it sustained to me still finding mid-40’s him hot too."

This Twitter exchange reflects the timeless appeal of "Home Alone" and Macaulay Culkin's enduring legacy. Whether or not Disney decides to take the fans' suggestions seriously, it’s clear that the love for Kevin McCallister remains as strong as ever.

Personally, I’m still pushing for a “My Girl” sequel starring a grown-up Vada (still played by Anna Chlumsky) who is having a mid-life crisis following the sudden deaths of her father and step-mom (Akroyd and Curtis cameos) and a pending divorce, suddenly starts seeing the grown-up ghost—imagined or real? We’re never sure—of her deceased childhood friend, Thomas (Macaulay Culkin, obviously), who offers her advice, comfort, and direction before she forgets that life is full of optimism, too.
