A recent image circulating on the dark-themed messaging app has captured the attention of many internet users, showcasing a young Taco Bell employee's witty response to an insensitive customer. The image, titled "Proud of my kid," features a screenshot of a conversation with the first part displaying a photo of the young worker with a neutral or slightly annoyed expression. Beneath the photo, the text reads, "Taco Bell is my villain origin story."

In the accompanying gray box, the text recounts an exchange between the employee and a customer: "A lady just asked how I was, I said tired, she said 'should have gone to college.' I said ma'am I turned 18 2 months ago and seeing as you have nothing better to do than pick on a random 18 yr old maybe you should have gone to church." The timestamp on the image reads "1:20 AM."

This interaction has sparked a wave of comments from users, praising the young worker's quick wit and criticizing the customer's rude behavior. One user remarked, "It literally costs you nothing to be kind. Why do some people want to bring everyone around them down?" Another user commented on the situation, stating, "That lady is stupid, people who went to college get tired too, I would know...great response by the kid."

Others shared their own experiences and thoughts on the matter. A former industry worker with two college degrees and an insomnia disorder said, "I'd have also told that lady to come say that to my face next time there's a pandemic." Another added, "I’ve never once said 'Maybe you should have gone to college' to somebody that handles my food. Just sayin’. There are some comfortably d***ish a******s out there."

The conversation also took a turn toward discussing the influence of church on people's attitudes. Some users speculated that the customer's judgmental behavior might be linked to her churchgoing habits, while others disagreed. One user quipped, "Church is likely what gave her that mentality," while another countered, "So she should have gone to church to get LESS judgy? I'm not quite sure that follows."

The image and its ensuing comments highlight the broader issue of treating service workers with respect and kindness. A Finnish commenter expressed admiration for the young employee, saying, "Please tell your daughter she is my hero!" Another user emphasized the importance of not underestimating those who prepare our food: "Don't mess with people that handle your food!"

The post has resonated with many who have experienced similar disrespect in the service industry. One user shared a personal anecdote: "My wife was working as a server and got a 20-minute lecture on how she needs to get her life together because the entree came out before the appetizer."

In the end, the young Taco Bell employee's response serves as a reminder that everyone deserves respect, regardless of their job or educational background. The overwhelming support and positive reactions from the online community highlight the importance of standing up against unwarranted criticism and showcasing kindness in our daily interactions.

Church wouldn't have changed her attitude. I was briskly working the drive thru at a Dunkins during the post church rush, some lady took my resting b**** face and briskness as rude and said if I hated my job I should quit. Nah, ma'am, I like my job, its c***y customers I can't tolerate.
