How a Chance Encounter at Work Led to a Lifelong Friendship

Starting a new job can be a nerve-wracking experience, especially when you find yourself alone in a sea of unfamiliar faces. I was assigned to handle the phones, and the only other person nearby was seated a row down, quietly working at her desk.
