In today's fast-paced and often tumultuous work environments, many employees and managers find themselves facing new and recurring challenges. A viral image on Imgur perfectly encapsulates these frustrations, resonating with countless individuals who have experienced similar workplace hurdles.

The image features a man clad in a blue long-sleeve shirt and jeans, standing with a noticeably despondent expression. His hands are tucked into his pockets, and he appears to be outside, near a building with a closed door and some greenery in the background. The text overlaid on the image reads, "MRW YOU HAVE TO WRITE UP MULTIPLE PEOPLE ON THE SAME DAY" at the top, and "FOR COMPLETELY UNRELATED BEHAVIORAL ISSUES" at the bottom.

This image has sparked significant discussions among viewers, with many sharing their personal experiences and frustrations related to workplace dynamics. One user commented about their ordeal with company insurance delaying sick leave, leading to a final warning for absences, despite bringing in 98% of their salary in new business. They ultimately quit, only to learn later that 25,000 employees were outsourced overseas, while the CEO received a 22% pay raise.

Another user lamented the drastic changes in workplaces over the past 15 years, attributing it to a combination of higher expectations for respectful environments and a lack of interpersonal skills to maintain such environments. They pointed out that the biggest bullies are often in Human Resources (HR), a sentiment echoed by others who described HR as prioritizing the company's interests over employees'.

In a particularly telling anecdote, one user shared their experience with a new company that tried to hire employees at a lower wage than the previous company, resulting in pushback and disbelief. This narrative highlights the ongoing battle between companies' cost-cutting measures and employees' expectations for fair compensation.

Comments also explored extreme cases of behavioral issues, including incidents of drug use at work and the subsequent pushback from those involved. The sentiment that HR is there to protect the company, not the employees, was a recurring theme, with many expressing their dissatisfaction with current HR practices.

A user shared a heart-wrenching story about being denied time off to visit a terminally ill parent, only to be laughed at by their manager and dismissed by HR. This poignant example underscores the disconnect between employees' personal needs and corporate policies.

The viral image and the accompanying comments illustrate a broader narrative about the evolving nature of workplaces and the myriad challenges faced by both employees and managers. It serves as a poignant reminder of the need for empathy, respect, and effective communication in fostering a healthy work environment.

It really feels like the workplace has changed a lot over the previous 15 years. My best guess is that it's a perfect dual storm of more people expecting a respectful environment, and far fewer people who bothered learning the interpersonal skills needed to provide a respectful environment.

But, the biggest bullies are often HR. Many years ago HR was at least personable. Now, they always have to feel like the smartest person in the room.

I got sick. The company insurance delayed my sick leave for 3 months until I got put on final warning for absences. Add 4 supervisors in 10 months. I brought in 98% of my salary in new busines. One 7 minute late in clocking in and my head was on the chopping block.I quit and retired. 3 weeks later 25,000 employees were outsourced overseas. The winner was the CEO, he got a 22% pay raise.

The new company that took over my department told us on their first day that they were going to start out new employees at $14. I told them the last company was starting out at $15 and couldn't get anyone, so why are you going lower? Their response was no one was hiring at $15/hr. I told them thar you can get it at McDonalds. They denied it.

Remember, HR is to protect the company, not you.

I once had to fire somebody for smoking crack on the job site. Another because they gave cocaine to another worker and they OD'd. It's amazing to me the pushback I got from these people.

Hearing someone in HR actually wants to help the EMPLOYEES instead of JUST the company, is SO f***ing rare these days, kudos to you OP.
