A recent post by Grace Methodist Church has sparked a lively discussion online regarding the true essence of Christian values. The church, known for its colorful, abstract, stained-glass design profile picture on Facebook, shared a thought-provoking sign five hours ago. The sign, attached to a dark, green metallic frame with some weathering, boldly reads:

"IF YOUR VERSION OF CHRISTIANITY WANTS TO PUT THE 10 COMMANDMENTS IN SCHOOLS BUT TAKE FREE LUNCHES OUT OF THEM, YOU ARE WORSHIPPING SOMETHING OTHER THAN JESUS."

This message, prominently displayed in large white capital letters against a dark background, has resonated with many and provoked a range of reactions. Below the main text, a small plaque honors “Rev. and Mrs. A.D. Ball,” suggesting the church’s commitment to its community and values.

The post has generated numerous comments that delve into the perceived contradictions within modern Christianity. One user pointed out, "These people are supposed to be 'Christian,' right? So why elevate the 10 commandments from the Torah over Jesus's commandment of 'love one another'?" Another comment emphasized, "If you need punishment and reward to be a good person, you are not a good person."

A particularly striking comment criticized the political implications of these actions: "Republicans just want to make sure the kids remember to pray to Jesus before someone goes into the school and m****cres them with the guns the pro-life party won't legislate against." This sentiment was echoed by another user who stated, “Trump wants your money; he admits he doesn’t care about anything but votes.”

The conversation also touched on broader social issues, with one user mentioning, "Yeah, capitalism," and another highlighting the perceived hypocrisy within religious practices: "They're fine using government to punish and enforce obedience to religion, they're not fine using government to further the stated values of their religion."

Grace Methodist Church’s message has not only sparked debate but also shed light on the need for a deeper reflection on how Christian values are implemented in society. The church’s stance on supporting social welfare, particularly the provision of free lunches in schools, serves as a reminder of the core teachings of love and compassion that should guide religious practices.

This bold statement by Grace Methodist Church continues to inspire conversations about faith, values, and the true meaning of following the teachings of Jesus.

I mean, their version of Christianity - hates the poor and foreign, lies, cheats, steals, covets each other's wives, worships a false idol, uses the lords name in vain (the way that phrase was actually meant to be used,) prays in public, hordes wealth and either agrees with, or directly engages in usury passing it off as "smart business men," and acts as a final judgment of their peers, taking their god's own job from him. They're pretty bad at it.

I mean, these people are supposed to be "Christian", right? So why elevate the 10 commandments from the Torah over Jesus's (you know, the guy that your entire religion is named after) commandment of "love one another"?

Maybe it's not actually a Christian thing. Maybe it's an overreaction of a group fighting desperately to consolidate their power. Stop thinking about their actions through a logical lense. The N***s were crazy and so are these people. Treat them as such.

Yeah, capitalism.

That's because most Christians just want to virtue signal their morals. They could honestly care less about Jesus.

Many of them already feel Jesus was too liberal with his teachings. https://www.newsweek.com/evangelicals-rejecting-jesus-teachings-liberal-talking-points-pastor-1818706
