"if the penalty for a crime is a fine, then that law only exists for the lower class." (this quote is often misattributed to Weigraf from Final Fantasy Tactics, but the statement sounds about right for the situation)

Rich white kids in Florida. Daddy will drop a little cash and all will be forgotten.

I do not remember them. Had not heard of them. Now I want to punch them. I would love to have the authority to take them on a vacation to India, and throw them into the f***ing Ganges, since that is apparently how they want everything to be.

itdweeb

They'll get the same treatment as noted r***** Brock Turner. Don't want to ruin their future because of a silly mistake. Boys will be boys.

quietwalker

They turned themselves in, didn't try to hide, they'll get community service at the worst.

slayston

They are d****** teenagers who dumped an unremarkable amount of trash, weird how many people here wish they would be killed or thrown in jail for 5 years (then they would just come out to do worse crimes because our system is f***ed). A s***load of community service cleaning up trash would be the best punishment... I work on a lake and f***ing hate bros like these guys too and want to just punch them out but come on folks use some critical thinking

Everyone, brace yourselves. There's a slap-on-the-wrist coming.

derekjohn

For once community service might be appropriate. 180 hours (each) of litter picking and cleaning beaches would seem appropriate.

VeryStableGenius

They should lose the boat, at a minimum. Good on them for turning themselves in, but it excuses nothing.

I just don't get why they did it in the first place. So dumb, doesn't make any sense.
