In a heart-wrenching video that has been making waves on social media, a user known as @Op shared a deeply personal story about the challenges he faced while caring for his girlfriend who was battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The video, titled "Just Thought I'd Share," has touched the hearts of viewers around the world, highlighting the power of love and the devastating effects of illness.

@Op's girlfriend despised hospitals, so he made a promise to keep her safe at home. This commitment led him to quit his job, dedicating himself to providing 24/7 care for his beloved for a year and a half. However, 17 months ago, he was forced to rush her to the hospital when she developed a fever, and he was unable to determine the cause. It was at the hospital that @Op's world shattered.

The doctor pulled him aside and handed him a clipboard, urging him to sign a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order for his girlfriend. The weight of the decision fell upon @Op's shoulders, as the doctor reminded him that she had chosen him for a reason and that he had to make this difficult choice on her behalf. Deep down, he knew that once the DNR order was signed, they would never let her leave. It was a promise he had failed to keep.

Following the video, an outpouring of support flooded the comments section. Users expressed their gratitude to @Op for sharing his girlfriend's story and opening up about his own struggles. One comment read, "Thank you for sharing her with us and also some of your story @Op." Another user remarked, "This post took a turn I was not expecting after the first gif," highlighting the emotional rollercoaster that the video took viewers on.

The video also sparked conversations about grief, with one user sharing a poignant perspective on the topic. They compared grief to a button on the wall in a room, and time to a giant ball bouncing around. When a tragedy strikes, the ball constantly hits the grief button, causing immense pain. As time goes on, the ball gets smaller, but it never disappears. At any moment, the ball can still hit the button, bringing back the intense pain, although less frequently.

Amidst the heartache and tears, there were also moments of levity in the comments section. Users referenced a popular comedic line, "I also choose this guy's dead wife," injecting a touch of humor into the otherwise somber discussion.

The video also received attention for a gif that was shared, prompting users to seek out its origin. Fortunately, one user provided a link to a YouTube video, revealing its source as the channel collectivecadenza and their "History of Wooing Men" series.

In the midst of the sorrow, a sense of unity emerged among the commenters. They expressed their condolences, acknowledging the pain and loss experienced by @Op. One user wrote, "What a lovely end to a very sad story. She was lucky to have had a strong friend like you. Thanks for sharing this." Another comment read, "I'm so sorry for your loss... :("

The video also shed light on a lesser-known connection between MS and the reactivation of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This revelation sparked additional discussions about the complexities of illness and the profound impact it can have on individuals and their loved ones.

As the comments poured in, one user captured the collective sentiment, stating, "Yeah, I am crying. As someone who has lost too many loved ones, I am so sorry! She lives on in you, however, and in anyone who remembers her!"

This video serves as a reminder that love can transcend even the most challenging circumstances. It is a testament to the strength and dedication of @Op, who selflessly cared for his girlfriend until the very end. The outpouring of support and empathy from strangers around the world reflects the power of human connection and the shared experience of grief.

To @Op and everyone who has been touched by this video, may you find solace in the memories of your loved ones and the knowledge that their impact lives on.

My GF is fading with MS right now. She hates hospitals so I promised her I'd keep her safe at home, ended up quitting my job, doing 24/7 care for a year & 1/2. Then 17 mos. ago I had to take her to the hospital because she was running a fever & I didn't know why. The doc pulled me aside. Handing me a clipboard, said it's time I signed her DNR order. "She chose you for a reason. You have to make this decision for her" etc. I knew right then they'd never let her leave. I failed to keep my promise.

My father recently passed away unexpectedly and someone gave me the best perspective. Grief is a button on the wall in a room. Time is a giant ball bouncing around the room. When the tragedy first happens, the large ball it’s the grief button constantly and it hurts so much. As time goes on, the ball gets smaller but never goes away. Anytime throughout your life, the ball can hit the button and it hurts like it was yesterday. It’s just not as frequent.

Oh F I did not see the username at first. (not that that part matters, but it led me to comment) So sorry for your loss - but just to clarify, you lost your friend not your wife, right? And thank you for sharing - she sounds awesome
