In the world of gaming, there is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing a beloved game fall victim to corporate greed. And that's exactly what happened with the highly anticipated Helldivers 2. A recently surfaced image on Imgur perfectly captures the sentiments of gamers who are tired of their favorite games being ruined by corpo greed.

The image, which is a three-panel meme, portrays a dramatic scene from what appears to be a movie or a television show. In the top panel, we witness a gripping moment as a man desperately holds onto another person's hand. The anguish on the person's face is palpable, as if they are yelling out in pain and fear. The text overlaid on this panel reads, "Gamers Who Are Just Tired of Games Getting Ruined by Corpo Greed." It's a sentiment that resonates with countless players who have seen their beloved games fall victim to corporate interests.

Moving to the middle panel, we see the man who is offering help. His determined expression and slight distress convey a sense of support and determination. The background suggests that they are on a rooftop, adding an extra layer of intensity to the scene. Superimposed text boldly declares the name of the game, "HELLDIVERS 2." The character is depicted saying, "I got you! I got you, brother," embodying the spirit of camaraderie and unity among gamers.

However, the image takes a heartbreaking turn in the bottom panel. A third hand forcefully intervenes, grabbing the wrist of the man who is trying to help. The hand bears a watch, symbolizing the corporate entity behind the intervention. The text simply reads, "SONY." It's a stark reminder that even the most promising games can be derailed by the actions of powerful corporations.

The image has sparked a wave of reactions from the gaming community. Many express their disappointment and frustration with Sony's interference, lamenting the impact it has had on Helldivers 2. Some gamers point out that Sony's requirement of a PlayStation Network (PSN) account to play the game has made it unplayable in numerous countries where PSN is not available. Others question the necessity of this requirement and speculate on the motivations behind it.

The negative reviews on Steam have been pouring in, with the recent reviews categorized as "Mostly Negative" and the overall reviews as "Mixed." Gamers who were once on the fence about picking up the game now find their reasons to get a PlayStation 5 shrinking. The community is rallying together, leaving negative reviews and requesting refunds, despite the potential hurdles they may face due to the hours played.

It's clear that Helldivers 2's downfall has left a significant impact on the gaming community. The image acts as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by gamers who simply want to enjoy their favorite pastime without the interference of corpo greed. As the discussions continue and the repercussions unfold, one thing is certain: gamers are united against the actions that threaten the integrity of their beloved games.

In the face of this setback, gamers are turning to alternatives like Deep Rock Galactic, a 4-player co-op shooter that offers a fresh and exciting gaming experience. The disappointment caused by Helldivers 2's downfall has made players appreciate the qualities of other games even more.

As the gaming industry evolves, it's essential for corporations to listen to the voices of the gaming community. The negative backlash resulting from the intervention in Helldivers 2 serves as a lesson to companies to prioritize the interests and desires of their player base. Only by doing so can they maintain a positive reputation and avoid alienating their loyal fans.

So, let this image be a reminder to all gamers and corporations alike: the power of the gaming community should never be underestimated. Gamers will continue to fight for the games they love, standing united against the forces of corpo greed and advocating for a gaming industry that prioritizes the enjoyment and satisfaction of its players.

Watching the Steam reviews crash to "mostly negative" in less than 72 hours has been amazing. They literally had a GOTY contender, but corpos gonna corpo.

IlluminaBlade

They literally trained their whole community to engage in communal goals and then pulled this.

Sitting around a week ago as a recovering tarkov player cheering on Helldivers for taking the p*** out of BSG, just for this to happen. I feel bad for the HD2 devs as they seem to legit care about making a great living room game like old school halo.

Such a amazing few months with this game. Then sony swoops in and ruins it. Sony probably harvests data and resells it to who knows who for a quick dollar. Hope sony learns their lesson...

When I got HD2 for 40€ I was really impressed with the quality and the amount of content, pretty much out of the blue (I saw no real advertisment for this game) and wondered what the monkey paw was about to drop. Oh well. But overall, how Sony reacts, how some of the community managers react and especially how some people are defending this move from Sony is beyond me, even if Sony might have said somewhere in a footnote the game would require PSN. Its an incredible bad PR move regardless.

Play Deep Rock Galactic!

on the one hand: it's always said that it requires a PSN account to play (server issues at launch was the stated reason for delaying the requirement being enforced, didn't expect the number of people playing) but on the other: why the F*** is it required? what possible reason would they have for that requirement?

How much does these PSN accounts cost, anyway? Do you have to buy a Playstation or something?

Shaodyn

Problem is, PSN isn't available in all the places Steam is. So Helldivers 2 is now unplayable in 170 countries, thanks to Sony.

Considering Helldivers 2 was ruined by corpo greed...
