In a world where chaos reigns and destruction looms, one unlikely hero finds solace in an unexpected place. A colorful comic strip has captured the essence of this character's unique perspective, showcasing their unwavering joy amidst the apocalypse. The image, filled with vibrant panels, depicts a simple yet expressive figure with a circular head, stick arms, and stick legs – a true embodiment of resilience and optimism.

The first panel sets the stage with an apocalyptic backdrop, featuring orange skies, a devastated landscape, and a mushroom cloud from a nuclear explosion in the distance. Despite the alarming circumstances, our protagonist, safely tucked away in a bunker, expresses sheer happiness through the simplicity of its eyes. The caption says it all: "The world just ended. And I couldn't be happier!"

As the story unfolds, it becomes evident that our protagonist has found solace in the world of gaming. The following panels showcase their meticulous preparation for an epic gaming session. In the second panel, the character peers into a fuel pump reminiscent of a gaming power-up station, declaring "Fuel?" With a sense of assurance, they confirm that their gaming energy is abundant, as the pump indicates it's full.

Moving on, the character stands beside a vending machine in the third panel, stocked with an array of snacks, drinks, and pre-packaged foods. With a quick checkmark, they confirm that their sustenance for the gaming journey is secured – the caption reads, "Snacks? Stocked." It's clear that our protagonist has thought of everything to ensure an uninterrupted gaming experience.

In the fourth panel, the character puts on a pair of gaming headphones and settles into a comfortable gaming chair. A beverage can rests on a nearby side table, signifying a complete disconnection from the outside world. With a sense of liberation, they confirm that their responsibilities are non-existent, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the gaming realm. "Responsibilities? None," the caption proudly states.

Finally, in the fifth panel, pure anticipation fills the air as our character holds a game controller in hand. The moment they have been eagerly waiting for has arrived. With an infectious enthusiasm, they declare, "Finally! The perfect gaming session begins now!" It's a celebration of their resilience and ability to find joy even in the midst of chaos.

This captivating comic strip reminds us of the power of escapism and the ability of video games to transport us to worlds beyond our own. It showcases the importance of finding solace and happiness in moments of uncertainty, even if it means embracing the virtual realm. As the world around us changes, let us remember the potential for adventure, excitement, and connection that lies within the gaming universe.

So, if you ever find yourself in the midst of an apocalypse, take a page out of our colorful character's book. Embrace the power of gaming, immerse yourself in its captivating narratives, and let the joy of virtual adventures carry you through the darkest of times. The world may have ended, but the quest for entertainment and fulfillment continues, one game at a time.

There was an old Twilight Zone episode like this, "Time Enough at Last". Excellent homage.

This is why you don't buy Ubisoft games.

Listen, if you took the time to do all that, you likely took the time to buy an older console or 4 and maybe a few pcs, that don't need an Internet connection to run a game. Maybe I could finally beat Mega Man X. Or ET on Atari...

WW3 better come with a heads-up, so I can reinstall Windows 7 and stock up on emulators.

The PS4 had an issue where if the CMOS battery died or was replaced it required reconnecting to PlayStation Store to reinstall the DRM or it was effectively bricked. In 2021 Sony addressed this issue in 9.00 firmware update so when the apocalypse comes you don't need to worry about losing all your PS4 games.
