Had something like that as a kid. One time I started clearing a new path through the woods near my house, originally just going to cut a path to a small clearing. Before long there were 3 of us cutting a path to the center of the forest, around 5x longer and twice as wide as I'd originally planned.

I always did this with my kids just where the water was coming up on shore and used the sand to build a big wall. So many kids would come by and help try to hold back the sea with the giant sand wall. So much fun.

Men just have something about digging I swear. I remember when I was little on a vacation, my grandfather was having a not great time and just starting digging a hole on the beach, didn't want to come back to the hotel or anything. 8 hours later he shows up with the police because he had dug nearly 12 feet down and had created a hazard and needed to be rescued from it with an emergency ladder.

Did this as a kid, bunch of college students approached me like “damn, is this yours?” And I was so proud that my architectural genius had been recognised and was like “yup sure is” and gave it the pat like I’d been modding a car. Got some laughs and then they hung out there after I left. Felt good to pass something to someone else for them to enjoy, core memory
