Sounds like you will need to go camping and hunt for geodes. My condolences.

Sorry to hear that. It’s never easy, but it does get better. Please promise you’ll be careful “drowning” those feelings. I understand needing a drink and relaxing, but using that as a coping mechanism can potentially lead to some dark places.

My Mom and I worked at the same hospital (albeit in different departments) and the last conversation I had with her was when I asked her if she had a plunger I could swing by her house and borrow. She said "How have you been a homeowner for two years and you don't own a plunger?" We both had a laught about it and I grabbed one on my way home. Three days later she ruptured a subarachnoid anuerysm and died 10 days later.

Heartfelt condolences. That's f**ken rough. About your grief, I recommend letting yourself experience it instead of drowning it, even if it's just about the hardest thing to do. Winnie the Pooh said "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” - I've lived by that for a long time, and it's been a big help to me in times like these. You had a wonderful dad, and your grief matters. This too shall pass, my friend. And you will think of your dad with joy again.

Lost my mom a month ago. Don't hold back when you need to cry. It releases good hormones that will physically make you feel better after. Lots of love to you

Sorry for your lost. If you do run to Alaska, even for a vacation for introspection and self reflection, I recommend South East Alaska. It's not a bad time of year to do so. Lovely mountainous islands. Depending where you are you can see the mountains of the mainland in the distance. lot of towns around here will have plenty of camping areas. Lot of places to just zone out to nature. Though no Geodes that I know of.
