Organized religion values submission to authority above all else, it's kind of their whole thing.

It's almost like Christians are actually kinda into the idea of doing violence for their beliefs. Not that you would ever have guessed that, based on the USA's rates of domestic terrorism. Oh... wait.

A hobo living in the woods near our local hospital built a guillotine and chopped his arm off because “god told him too”. So…yeah.

Now think about how many believers are willing to k*** their neighbors or just random strangers, too. It explains the Covid response. It explains healthcare. It explains all of GOP politics. Except that their "god" is the almighty dollar.

Organized religions need to cease to exist. Believe your beliefs. Stop throwing money at grifters

There was a modern Abraham. Deanna Laney. Heard the voice of the christian god who ordered her to k*** her 3 sons. She tried to do just that and succeeded in k***ing 2 of them. One infant survived with severe injuries. She was then tried by a christian judge & jury in Texas who unanimously agreed that she had to be delusional. Odd, isnt it? It was perfectly in line with bible god's old-testamentarian MO. Goes to show even christians know on some level that if you hear a god, you're obviously nuts

Lots of parents that k*** their children claim to hear voices. What makes your voices special Abraham? Huh? Huh?

Fun fact: after Abraham agrees to sacrifice Issac, *God never speaks to him again*. In fact, the very next thing Abraham does in the Bible is die. "Abraham was supposed to refuse that command and failed by accepting it" is, in fact, a popular reading of the passage that can be backed up by arguing those points.

The Jewish community tends to have more insightful and humane readings of the Torah than most Christians do, in my experience. Some Jewish interpretations see the text as a criticism of violence based on blind faith, rather than an endors****t of it.

One of the biblical stories that turned me off religion as a kid. Exalting blind obedience is a giant red flag.
