Could've ended up a moist owlette.

I feel like we missed a step from owl on a rod to owl in a towel.

That owl is either partially tame or incredibly grateful not to be stuck at sea.

I know "which is more likely" isn't how life works, but I was wondering if "is it even possible" applies here. Migratory birds fly far more than 20 miles, and strong winds do blow, but we're talking an owl here! Anyone here an ornithologist that can weigh in on whether they brought an owl out to sea?

Sometimes on carriers birds come hang out in port and then don’t leave before we go way out to sea, and then they’re kinda stuck on the ship with us.

Owl sees fishing pole: “Owl just land here!” (There, I said it. Owl just leave this here.)
