Canonically, Joseph was absolutely going to divorce her until the angel showed up and was like "naw, it's a magic baby, dude." Apocryphally, they also tried to get an abortion but it didn't take.

Since Mary was possibly 13 or 14 when she had Jesus (that being the marrigable age for Jews at the time), the entire scenario is f***** up.

There is a 90% chance that Mary's "v***** birth" was actually an affair with another man and she created this story to cover it with so she wouldn't be s***** to death (because, you know, they would k*** a woman for even breathing the wrong way back then). Then there's a 9.9999999999% chance it was r*** by her own husband who used narcotics to sedate her while he did the act. And then, of course, 0.0000000001% chance that, yes, she had an actual v***** birth.

I will never understand the religious in the modern age. The Roman’s were notorious for adding lead to their wine as a preservative and sweetener, then commoners would store wine in lead casks because the metal was soft and easy to work. Then people would start having visions of floating wheels with eyes and wings and heads of lions and called them “angels”. They had psychosis from heavy metal poisoning.
