In a shocking turn of events, Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio, real name Charles Jones, was tragically shot and killed in the early hours of June 23, 2024. The incident occurred around 4:40 AM when a 911 call reported a shooting in a parking lot at McKinley and Fowler. Two cars were targeted in the attack, resulting in four people being shot. While three victims were rushed to hospitals, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

Julio Foolio, known for his controversial lyrics, had a reputation for dissing deceased individuals. One of his songs, "Beatbox Remix B Flo," inadvertently sparked a TikTok trend that mocked the murder of 18-year-old Corbin Johnson. Johnson's remains were discovered in a wooded area in 2019 after he was reported missing the previous year. The hashtag #wheresCorbin amassed nearly 3.9 million views on TikTok, leaving Johnson's mother, Melissa Jackson, bewildered by the sudden influx of condolences from strangers.

Foolio was associated with the violent rap group KTA and had a history of mentioning other murder victims in his tracks. He remixed Fantasia's "When I See U" to rap about rival Jacksonville rapper Young and Ace, also known as Young E Ace. Ace narrowly survived a quadruple shooting near the St. John's Town Center that claimed the lives of his three teenage friends, Trayvon Bullard, Royal Devon Smith Jr., and Jacobe Dasad Grover. The assailants pulled up next to the victims at a stoplight before opening fire.

This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the violence that often shadows the rap industry. For more details on this unfolding story, watch the full video.
