In an amusing twist of events, a Google search result has left netizens in stitches. The search query "gas boiler not firing up" revealed a list of potential reasons, but one particular phrase stood out humorously among the technical explanations: "unresolved childhood issues."

The screenshot, which has been widely shared on Reddit, shows the search term "gas boiler not firing up" entered in the Google search bar. Below the search bar, related search suggestions such as "Pilot light," "Not staying," and "Worcester" appear in pill-shaped buttons.

However, what grabbed everyone's attention was a specific phrase underlined in orange within the block of text below the suggestions. The text reads: "There are a variety of reasons why your boiler may not be working; common examples include the boiler pressure being too low or too high, unresolved childhood issues, a power cut, gas supply issues, a faulty pilot light, a frozen condensate pipe, faulty internal components or a more complex issue." The underlined phrase "unresolved childhood issues" provides a humorous contrast to the otherwise technical list of potential problems.

Reddit users were quick to share their reactions. One commenter quipped, "It’s because of all the gaslighting they got subjected to as infants." Another user asked, "Is this from an AI summary? Wonder where that got pulled from."

Interestingly, another comment provided some context, explaining that the phrase might not be the result of an AI error. "For once, this isn’t Google being stupid. This isn’t AI, and is taken directly from an actual boiler repair article that mixed in bits of humor," the commenter noted. They elaborated that the original article begins with, “Your boiler isn’t working. It’s either because of a technical reason or karma from all those people you killed. We can help with the former.” The article mixes in little jokes to keep the advice on fixing boiler issues from being too dry.

The thread also featured a range of humorous takes on the situation. One user suggested, "Have you thought of therapy for your gas boiler?" Another chimed in, "Wait to just slip that one in there." The laughs continued with a user stating, "Google keeps randomly giving me incorrect medical advice for unrelated prompts," and sharing their own bizarre experience with Google search results.

The hilarity reached a peak with a user commenting, "Unresolved childhood issues cause a lot of problems," followed by another remarking, "Well, 'unresolved childhood issues' and 'faulty internal components' seems kind of redundant."

While the exact origins of the phrase "unresolved childhood issues" in the Google search result may be debated, the humor it brought to an otherwise mundane topic of boiler malfunctions is undeniable. The blend of technical advice with unexpected humor highlights the quirks of both human and machine-generated content on the internet.

For those curious to see the original boiler repair article that sparked this laughter, a link was shared: https://heatable.co.uk/boiler-advice/boiler-not-working#6111a75c-2f23-4e3e-b997-713cbddd4293. With a mix of practical advice and light-hearted jokes, it appears to be a must-read for anyone dealing with boiler issues.

In the end, whether it's unresolved childhood issues or just a faulty pilot light, it's clear that sometimes a little humor is the best way to tackle even the most frustrating problems.

For once, this isn’t google being stupid. This isn’t ai, and is taken directly from an actual boiler repair article that mixed in bits of humor. The first line in the article is “Your boiler isn’t working. It’s either because of a technical reason or karma from all those people you killed. We can help with the former.” Most of it is pretty normal advice on what sorts of boiler problems can be fixed easily, and how to do the fixes, and what sorts of problems need professionals. It mixes in little jokes here and there to keep from being boring.
