What followed was a flip off the bat and a perfect entry that left onlookers in awe. Steele's dive was so spectacular that the New Zealand commentators could hardly contain their excitement.

The dive has also sparked a wave of admiration and amusement. Comments ranged from "That's one magical Shooting Star Flop. 11/10" to "This man is as graceful as a walrus." Some even drew comparisons to other notable divers, with one user mentioning, "Someone hasn't seen the vids of our Filipino divers during the 2015 SEA Games 🤣."

Despite the comedic undertones, the dive has undeniably solidified Bronson Steele's status as a legend in the belly flop community. His ability to captivate and entertain, combined with his stuntman expertise, has made this performance one for the history books.

Bronson Steele has got to be the most p*** name I've ever seen in a non-p*** context.

This is a belly flop comp. They ain't wearing speedos because they think it looks good. The whole point is to look professionally silly. Side factoid: that guy is a stunt man and was Jack Black's double in King Kong. https://stuntguildnz.com/stunt-professionals/bronson-steele

Suddenly had a flashback to going to the pool with my younger brother. They made you do 4 laps of the pool width-wise before you were allowed to dive off the platforms. So we had just finished our laps, and were waiting to be told by the lifeguard that we were approved when this "old dude" (who was probably younger than I am now) goes up to the platform, does a handstand, then "accidentally" falls forward and runs with his feet all the way till he hits the water, feet first, perfectly perpendicular to the water surface. My brother and I look at each other to confirm we saw what we saw cause it was ridiculous. We waited for the lifeguard a little longer, but he didn't notice us so we got out and started walking his way. As we did, the same "old dude" had got out, walked around to the high spring board. We're about to bug the lifeguard to let us go, but delayed to see what this old dude is going to do this time. He then proceeds to do the same sort of bounce you'd see in the Olympics, the step up, hop, bounce, but "slips" on the two foot final bounce and then does a reverse of the last dive. Running around in the air like he's a vertically oriented Marx brother, running through his entire back flip to land perfectly again, feet down, perpendicular to the water. Blew my 12 yr old mind.
