A new comic strip circulating on Reddit has taken the internet by storm, especially among fans of classic rock and aficionados of '80s music. The four-panel comic strip, titled "just a small town girl... [oc]," humorously showcases how the iconic song "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey can reveal someone's age.

In the first panel, two cartoon characters engage in a conversation. The character on the left, with short dark hair and a green shirt, asks, "HOW OLD ARE YOU?" The second character, sporting short blond hair and a blue shirt, responds angrily, "OMG, RUDE! I'M NOT TELLING!!"

The second panel zooms in on the first character's face, who mischievously quotes the famous lyric, "just a small town girl..."

In the third panel, the second character cannot resist dramatically singing the next line, "livin' in a LONELY WORLD," with exaggerated emotion and a colorful, wavy background emphasizing their enthusiasm.

The final panel brings us back to both characters, where the first character confidently states, "YOU'RE 40." The second character is left speechless, facing the first character in quiet acknowledgment.

This comic has resonated with Reddit users, sparking a series of nostalgic and humorous comments. One user remarked, "This song is still played for the crowd at every sporting event. Everyone knows it." Another pointed out, "I'm pretty sure this really only tests if you're not a robot or an alien."

While some users debated the accuracy of the age guess, with comments like, "40? This song came out before someone that age was born," and "Songs from your early teen years are always 'the peak of music'," others shared personal anecdotes. "I’m 19 and do this," one user confessed, while another mentioned, "I'm 55. My son is 30. This would work on both of us."

The comic strip brilliantly captures a universal truth about music: certain songs are timeless and continue to resonate with people across generations. "Don't Stop Believin'," released in 1981 by Journey, remains one such anthem. As one user aptly put it, "Great music is eternal."

Whether you're a die-hard Journey fan or just someone who appreciates a good laugh, this comic strip is a delightful reminder of the power of music and its ability to connect us all. For those who know the joy of belting out "Don't Stop Believin'" at the top of their lungs, this comic is a must-see.

So, take a moment to enjoy this humorous take on age and music, and maybe even share it with a friend who can't resist singing along to Journey.

Songs from your early teen years are always "the peak of music". Don't Stop Believin' by Journey was released in 1981. Punchline should be "You're 54" >!Also **great** music is eternal 🤘!<

40? This song came out before someone that age was born. Not saying it isn't a great song and that people don't know it that are younger (I'm 38). But typically a persons music preference is set in high school. Journey is a band my parents had albums of, I heard it because it was their music, not because it was mine. What I'm trying to say is 40 needs to be changed to 60 here.

Hold on, the show Glee revitalized it's popularity fairly recently

You don't have to be 40 in order to enjoy Journey...
