In a recent viral video titled "🎶Like a Rock🎶 🤣" on Reddit, viewers are treated to a zany yet heart-stopping moment involving a massive boulder and a Ford Ranger. The video captures an intense scene with an individual named Mark, who is instructed to "curl the bucket" before the inevitable drop of a giant rock into the back of a pickup truck. The exclamation "Jesus Christ!" sums up the sheer disbelief and shock of the moment.

One of the most amusing aspects of the video is the sheer underestimation of the boulder's weight. A user humorously questioned, "Who’d have thought a boulder would be so heavy 🤔," while another added, "I mean it’s one boulder, Michael. How much could it weigh? Ten pounds?" The reality is far from this light-hearted banter. With a rough estimate of the volume of the rock being around 18 cubic feet, it could weigh between 2800 and 3000 pounds, which is about twice the maximum payload of the Ford Ranger.

The comments section is filled with witty remarks and expert insights. One user sarcastically pointed out, "That's a nice boulder," while another questioned the practicality of the setup, "And how the hell are they going to lift it off the truck?" The comical nature of the situation is further highlighted by comments like, "The funniest part of this is the flimsy wooden pallet underneath it... Seriously?!"

A particularly detailed comment explained the physics behind the drop, noting that the rock's density and dimensions could result in a force of upwards of 7500 pounds upon impact, far exceeding the truck's capabilities. Another user reminisced about their own experiences, stating, "This reminds me of when I operated a loader for a garden center. I would constantly tell people that no, you can’t take 3-4 yards of topsoil in your Tacoma."

The video also sparked a nostalgic moment with a reference to a 1990’s commercial: "Like a rock, I was strong as I could be. Like a rock, nothin’ ever got to me. Like a rock, I was something to see. Like a rock, OHHHHHHH LIKE A ROCK 🪨!" This classic jingle added a humorous twist to the already entertaining video.

Ultimately, the video is a blend of humor, disbelief, and a touch of nostalgia, making it a must-watch for anyone curious about the challenges of moving massive objects with seemingly inadequate resources. Whether you're a fan of Ford Rangers or just love a good laugh, this video is a perfect example of why sometimes, it's best to leave the heavy lifting to the professionals.

Most common rocks have a density of 2.6 g/cm^3 A rough estimate of volume of this rock is 3ft x 2ft x 3ft or 18 cubic feet. Convert units and you’ll get somewhere in the 2800-3000 lb range for this “rock” Which is about 2x the maximum payload of that truck. BUT…Adding the drop of about 12 inches; It likely had a maximum force of upwards of 7500 lbs

If this rock is 4 feet by 2.5 x 2.5 with a density of 125 lb/ft3 then it's just over 3k lbs. Of course no one checks to see if you can drop the f***er onto the bed and this looks like an older half ton truck. Couldn't have just paid for delivery.....

Now lift the truck and drive the loader to the destination, problem solved
