The highly-anticipated film "Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1" has generated a unique buzz among moviegoers. The Reddit post titled "I guess a 3 hour western is a single people movie 😂" showcases an intriguing image from a mobile app that displays the seating arrangement for a screening at AMC Lincoln Square 13. The show is scheduled for today, June 29, at 10:00 am with the Laser at AMC experience.

The seating chart reveals an interesting pattern—most seats are occupied, indicated by grey rectangles. A single red rectangle shows the selected seat, while a few icons denote wheelchair and companion seating. This sparse attendance, especially for a 10 am showing, has sparked various reactions from the Reddit community.

One user commented on the differing tastes in seat locations, while another highlighted that many people prefer watching movies alone for a more enjoyable experience. A humorous anecdote was shared by someone who worked at a small southern town theater during the release of "Brokeback Mountain," noting how closeted gay men would sneak in for matinee showings.

The comments also reveal a trend of spouses attending movies separately due to differing tastes. One user mentioned, "My husband wants to see that movie (let me know how it was), but it's not my cup of tea, so he'll be going alone. We often go to movies separately, as our tastes are soooo different." Another shared a similar experience, "Lost a bet with my husband / saw matinee showing yesterday. Theater was surprisingly full. Not big on westerns but after the first hour, I was totally into it."

A few users noted the practical aspect of attending early morning shows to enjoy a quieter environment. "Bro you’re looking at a 10am showing. Of course the seats are sparse lol," one commented. Another added, "i used to always go alone. pre-COVID I don't like people talking to me or near me. post-COVID there hasn't been a single movie worth the cost of admission that I'm not willing to wait for on streaming services."

The conversation also touched on the movie's appeal, with one user humorously remarking, "Dads/Husbands got out of the house to go see a Western." Another expressed a desire for more Western movies, stating, "Don’t care. We need more Western movies!!!!"

As the post continues to gather reactions, it is evident that "Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1" has struck a chord with a diverse audience. Whether attending alone for a peaceful experience or driven by a love for Westerns, this movie seems to cater to a wide range of preferences. The seating arrangement image and the lively Reddit discussion highlight the evolving dynamics of movie-watching in the modern era.

A lot of people go to movies alone. It, generally, makes the experience more enjoyable. Or, at least, in those people's opinion.

This is off topic but I worked at my local (very small southern town) theater when Broke Back Mountain came out. The number of redneck closeted gay men who snuck in to watch that movie during early afternoon hours always gave me a chuckle with em trying to play it off like they had no idea.
