A recently trending video on Reddit titled "Too much, too quick" has ignited a heated discussion on the topic of circumcision. The video captures a stand-up comedy bit where the comedian humorously contemplates the first major decision parents face when they have a son—whether to circumcise him or not. The comedian shares his personal dilemma, recounting how he and his wife debated this non-religious decision and sought their mothers' opinions.

The responses from their mothers were immediate and unanimous, causing the comedian to hilariously question, "Did you ever accidentally find out what type of... your mom prefers?" The bit takes a comical turn when he describes his mother-in-law's insistence that an uncircumcised... would get infected due to cleaning difficulties.

The comedian then humorously invites anyone in the audience with a full... to defend their choice, jestingly implying that they should be a spokesperson for their community. He challenges the notion that cleaning is difficult and jokes about the concept of "extra real estate," questioning whether men use this as a way to feel better about their size.

The comments section of the video has become an extension of the debate, with users voicing strong opinions both for and against circumcision. One user humorously noted, "Comment section turned into extra real-estate," while another asked, "Has she ever heard of soap and water?"

A significant number of commenters argue against the practice, with sentiments like, "Funny bit, however seriously America leave kids alone," and "Jokes aside, can we please stop with the genital mutilation of boys?" Many highlight the lack of support from credible medical associations for routine circumcision and emphasize the importance of bodily autonomy.

One comment even drew a comparison to removing a child's tonsils to avoid infection, questioning the ethics of making irreversible decisions without consent. Another user, identifying as Jewish, firmly opposed religious circumcision, stating, "It's still mutilation of an infant's body without consent."

Interestingly, a few users brought up celebrities Jake Gyllenhaal and Bryce Harper, though the context remains unclear. The video and its comments have sparked a broader conversation about cultural, medical, and ethical perspectives on circumcision, with many advocating for leaving the decision to the individual when they are old enough to consent.

Overall, this viral video and its ensuing debate underscore the importance of thoughtful consideration and informed choice when it comes to circumcision, blending humor with serious reflections on a deeply personal and often controversial topic.

The answer should be clear: don't mutilate your child. If your religion or culture requests it, it's stupid.

Not a single credible medical association recommends routine circumcision. Stop that s***.

I don't fully trust anyone who is in favor of circumcision. Anybody who says it'll get infected is either too lazy or too stupid to understand that it takes all of 5 seconds to clean your d*** with a bit of soap and water while you're in the shower FFS. Not to mention you lose sensitivity due to the nerve endings constantly being exposed to the elements. Why would you intentionally make sex feel not as good for that future adult? And for people who do it for religious purposes, as a Jew myself, f*** that s***. It's still mutilation of an infant's body without consent.

In canada, this is no longer a thing. For those crazy parents who want to do it, they have to do it on their own, hospitals no longer do it. It's been like this for decades now. Absolutely incredible that this is still being done in the states. Just teach your little boys to wash their p**** G******* it. How complicated is it. And for women who say they prefer a cut p****. What the f***. Do you think your soggy flip flop v***** is any different.
