In the recently concluded European Championship in Kronenberg, Netherlands, a touching moment between a 15-year-old rider, Anna Ley, and her horse, Errando, captivated the equestrian community. The video, widely shared on social media, showcases the deep bond and mutual respect between the rider and her horse, proving that the love between them transcends the competitive arena.

During the event, Anna Ley and Errando faced a challenging moment when Errando hesitated and eventually went down. Instead of frustration or anger, Anna's gentle response highlighted the essence of true horsemanship. "Maybe she doesn't want to play, oh this time she has gone down, you know, and look it just stands there, and that's what I mean about a relationship, look at that, that is about a relationship between a horse and a rider, okay it didn't work, but the love doesn't stop in the arena," the commentator noted, emphasizing the profound connection between the two.

This video has resonated deeply with viewers, eliciting a range of reactions. One user shared a harrowing experience with the mistreatment of horses in Amish communities, contrasting it with the tender moment between Anna and Errando. Another comment praised the team dynamic, stating, "Horse and rider are a team, Got to have respect when one says nope."

Despite the encouraging nature of Anna and Errando's interaction, the video also sparked a broader debate about the ethics of equestrian sports. Some viewers expressed concerns about the treatment of horses in competitive settings, calling for a reevaluation of such events. "I'm not a horse person, but I think they should ban all equestrian events as well as horse racing in general. The industry can't weed out the s*****ic individuals, so they need to have their toys taken away," one commenter argued.

However, amidst the controversy, the video serves as a reminder of the potential for compassion and partnership in the equestrian world. One viewer poignantly observed, "You actually see the horse look at her like 'Oh god, you ok? I messed up! Oh god!' before she comforts him with the 'it's ok, I love you, we are fine, let's go get a snack.'"

Anna Ley and Errando's moment in the European Championship is a testament to the beauty of the bond between horse and rider. It underscores the importance of empathy, respect, and love in all equestrian endeavors, reinforcing that, indeed, the love doesn’t stop in the arena.

This makes me happy. I live in an area that has Amish communities and you wouldn’t believe how they treat their horses. Once passed by an accident on the side of a state route. Stopped to help. The horse got clipped by a car going 60. It was seizing due to injury and its owner was kicking it in the side and called it a “useless tool” as it was dying…

I'm not a horse person, but I think they should ban all equestrian events as well as horse racing in general. The industry cant weed out the s*****ic f***s, so they need to have their toys taken away. Horse people, tell me if I'm wrong on this, please—I'm uneducated on this "sport", but it sure seem rotten to the core. https://ktla.com/sports/olympic-horse-welfare-sparks-debate-within-horse-racing-community/amp/
