Carlos Yulo, the Philippines' first Olympic gold medalist at the Paris Games, has been showered with an array of impressive rewards, making headlines and sparking discussions across social media platforms. The monumental victory has not only brought pride to the nation but has also earned Yulo an astonishing list of benefits that emphasize the country's gratitude and support for its athletes.

In a recent Reddit post from the community "interestingasf***," a photograph of Carlos Yulo smiling and holding his gold medal is featured. Dressed in a blue athletic jacket with "PHILIPPINES" emblazoned across the front and the national flag proudly displayed, Yulo's joy is palpable. Next to his photograph is an image of the Philippine flag, symbolizing national pride and unity.

The text above the photograph enumerates the incredible rewards Yulo will receive for his historic achievement:

1. A lifetime of free colonoscopies starting at 45 years old

2. A furnished condo

3. A house

4. Over $200,000 in cash

5. An iPhone 16

6. Free cookies for life from a local bakery

7. Free food for life from multiple local restaurants

8. Free engineering education

The list of rewards has sparked a variety of reactions from Reddit users. One user humorously commented, "A lifetime of free what now?" while another expressed admiration for the country's support, saying, "Sure, but that does not diminish the gratitude his country demonstrates to him by doing this."

Other comments highlighted the rarity of such victories for the Philippines and the immense pride Filipinos feel. "As a Filipina, I am really happy that Carlos brought home 2 golds. Yes, we rarely win in the Olympics that's why we are very happy with the results," one user shared. Another user congratulated Yulo with a touch of humor, stating, "Carlos is now super rich after winning haha sana all."

Yulo's achievement has also drawn comparisons with other countries' support for their athletes. "Doesn't the UK already have govt healthcare and schooling available? Here in the US we like to bankrupt people for being sick and getting an education," one user pointed out, reflecting on the differences in support systems.

The post also included a playful jab at Yulo's name, "So the man’s name is 'Phillip Pines'!? What a convenient coincidence! 😜" and a reminder of the importance of healthcare, "Hbomber reminded me to get a colonoscopy once you're a certain age."

Carlos Yulo's victory and the subsequent rewards have not only highlighted his extraordinary talent and dedication but also underscored the Philippines' commitment to honoring and supporting its athletes. The nation's pride in Yulo's achievement is evident, and his rewards serve as a testament to the high esteem in which he is held.

Congratulations to Carlos Yulo and all the winners from around the world. Their dedication and hard work are truly inspiring, and they deserve every bit of recognition and reward for their achievements.

Sure, but that does not diminish the gratitude his country demonstrates to him by doing this. Most olympians do not get paid to train. This way they are offering him a life, and an income after competition.
