Witness an incredible transformation through a double jaw surgery journey that has left a profound impact on a young woman’s life. The video, titled "My mom had a very similar surgery when she was just after she turned 18," provides an in-depth look at the significant changes and recovery process involved in class three jaw surgery.

Three days before the surgery, the lower jaw was noticeably protruding due to the upper jaw not growing fast enough. Post-operation, the difference is remarkable. The surgery involved breaking and repositioning both the upper and lower jaws. This complex procedure is not just cosmetic but crucial for functional improvement, addressing severe cases where the upper jaw underdevelops. The recovery is challenging, with intense swelling and the jaw being wired shut initially, but the outcome is undeniably life-altering.

Comments from viewers reveal a mix of empathy, personal experiences, and insights. One user shared, "Good for her!" while another commented, "My first wife went through this. Braces, double osteotomy, braces. 6 weeks with Jaws wired shut, pureed meals, same kind of swelling. But the results were life-altering, fixed her severe TMJ along with the cosmetic aspect." Another individual highlighted the importance of supportive comments, stating, "I don't understand making jokes in the comments. Yeah, you wrote a funny reference, but this is bullying someone's appearance."

The recovery process varies, with some noting, "I had this surgery. What they don't tell you is that you can't blow your nose during recovery. After 3 weeks I pulled out snot worms longer than my hand." Others emphasize the functional benefits, "Upper jaw didn't grow normally. God. Her sinuses must have been hellish--the roots of the upper teeth are right up against them."

This video not only showcases the physical transformation but also underscores the mental and emotional resilience required to undergo such a major surgery. The comments reflect a community of individuals sharing their own experiences, offering support, and highlighting the importance of medical advancements in improving quality of life.

Modern medicine continues to provide solutions for complex conditions, as one viewer noted, "My wife is going thru this next year due to rheumatoid arthritis. Already has braces on and the explanation of the surgery sounds horrifying. Yet somehow she will be able to use everything almost right after??? Fkn modern medicine man..."

The video ends on a positive note, with many viewers applauding the young woman's courage and the successful outcome of the surgery. It’s a testament to the incredible possibilities of modern medical procedures and the transformative power they hold.

I don't understand making jokes in the comments. Yeah, you wrote a funny reference, but this is bullying someone's appearance. And people reading imgur with a tiny fraction of body dysmorphia will take that to heart.

I’m 42 but I’m still looking for a surgery or treatment that can cure my vitiligo so I can be confident totally. But the best thing I can afford is some cover up remedy fluid, it’s close to skin color and people would be less concerned when they see me. I don’t get married and have any kids for this reason, can’t bring this curse upon others. But recently I saw a Dua Lipa music video and it got a vitiligo guy in it, I felt a little more confident after that. I wish I’m a calico cat.

Bentist has singlehandedly made me take better care of my teeth than years of shaming from dental assistants ever has.
