The recent tweet from TheQuartering (@TheQuartering) has ignited a heated debate in the gaming community. The tweet, which criticizes the inclusion of a Black samurai in the upcoming Assassin's Creed Red, has drawn significant attention and mixed reactions from various users.

TheQuartering's tweet reads, "Don't you racist video gamers say a damn thing about this black Samurai. lol. Holy Moly gaming is woke beyond repair." Accompanied by an image of an African samurai character from the game, the tweet has garnered 840 comments, 330 retweets, 1,948 likes, and 1 million views.

In response, Sleep R. Kidd (@SKWatlanta) retweeted TheQuartering's post with a sarcastic remark: "HOW DARE YOU CREATE A BLACK CHARACTER BASED ON A REAL LIFE BLACK PERSON. WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE WOKE..." This reaction highlights the ongoing debate about the term "woke" and its implications.

Steven JFG (@FatStevenJFG) added to the conversation by pointing out historical facts. He tweeted, "Yasuke was a real-life Black samurai who served under Oda Nobunaga, one of the most important feudal lords in Japanese history and a unifier of the country. ^ maybe that's the character? 🤔"

The controversy extends beyond these tweets, with users expressing varied opinions in the comments section. Some argue that the inclusion of Yasuke in the game is historically inaccurate, while others believe it's a progressive move that reflects real historical figures.

One user commented, "The objection to his inclusion is that it's widely believed that Yasuke was little more than a source of amusement for Oda and it's highly questionable whether he actually served as a Samurai in combat." Another added, "Which is nice, until you realize that their version of Yasuke has absolutely nothing to do with the actual figure from history and is completely fantasized."

The debate also touches on broader issues within the gaming industry. A user shared their experience, stating, "I made games for nearly 20 years. I spent a lot of time cringing at the sexist and racist behavior of gamers, and it has only gotten worse since then."

As the discussion continues, it's clear that the portrayal of Yasuke in Assassin's Creed Red has struck a chord with many, reflecting deeper societal issues and differing perspectives on historical representation in video games.

That quarter guy is a f***ing moron, I’m like 90% sure the only reading that neckbeard does is reading headlines on the Q forums.

There was all sorts of controversy over one person being the source on the existence of Yasuke and all that. My answer is, who the F*** CARES?! The modern AC franchise is based on the idea that an alien civilization is responsible for all the ideas of 'gods' and all sorts of legendary creatures actually existing. in Odyssey you fight things like the Nemean Lion or the Hydra or whatnot. No whining about THAT being historically inaccurate.

The objection to his inclusion is that it's widely believed that Yasuke was little more than a source of amusement for Oda and it's highly questionable weather he actually served as a Samurai in combat. Yasuke, while perhaps an interesting case, did not play a meaningful part in Japanese history, especially considering everything that was going on during this period...

Let me explain… Woke: A general purpose term applied to anything unsettling or terrifying to a simple mind sculpted by years of racist conservative propaganda. Anything can be “woke” if you don’t like it. Ex: “That actor is too woke because he was wearing a pink shirt”… “this broccoli is woke because it’s a vegetable, not meat”… Woke is often associated with acts of human kindness or charity which conservatives are wholeheartedly against.

Which is nice, until you realise that their version of Yasuke has absolutely f*** all to do with the actual figure from history and is completely fantasised. Sharing only name. Everything else just completely goes against what we do know about him or is to fit the character they wanted to make. They just use him as a shield, unsurprisingly as that is the main tactic for companies nowadays. To use minorities to shield from criticism.

As great as it is that this real history is being adapted, I really wish it'd have been done by a more history-respecting company.

The Quartering (or as I and others call him, 'Quarterpounder', because he's overweight) is a rage-baiting d***** bag who lies and creates fake drama for views and patreon subscriptions.

I am sure this won't even be in top 5 of the issues this game has when it comes out. Thomas Lockleys' fairy tails being noticed by Japan and him getting fired is funny as hell on the other hand.

I made games for nearly 20 years. I spent a lot of time cringing at the sexist and racist behavior of gamers, and it has only gotten worse since then. When I’m on YouTube and a suggestion comes up for any channel that is crying about “wokeness” in games, that channel immediately goes onto the “do not recommend channel” list. Stupid chuds ain’t getting my views.

damn, the n***s have been raging about this for a year now?
