Fans of the Animal Planet reality series 'River Monsters' were left both amazed and somewhat saddened when the show concluded. The reason? Star Jeremy Wade had successfully caught nearly every exceptionally large freshwater fish species on Earth, leaving no remaining content for the show. This incredible feat is depicted in a meme that has been circulating, featuring an image of Wade holding an enormous fish with a broad body and sharp teeth, a fitting symbol of his conquests.

The meme further gains traction with a humorous twist, showing a tweet from user "georgie" (@BeefyGorilla) that reads, "Main quest: complete." This cleverly encapsulates the sentiment of Wade's journey, likening it to finishing a challenging video game quest. The image also includes a small circle in the upper right corner with the words "BUGGED SECTION," adding a layer of irony to the complete conquest of Wade's fishing adventures.

Comments from fans reflect a mix of admiration and nostalgia. One user remarks, "Jeremy Wade knows fish," while another notes, "He basically got paid to pursue a dream for a decade." Such comments highlight the unique appeal of the show and Wade’s expertise, which set 'River Monsters' apart from other fishing programs. Wade's background in Zoology and his ability to catch real-life "river monsters" on camera added authenticity and excitement to each episode.

Despite the show’s conclusion, fans are still buzzing with ideas for what Wade could do next. Suggestions range from exploring new species and cryptids to piloting fishing drones on other planets. One fan humorously commented, "We need to get fish onto other planets so Wade can fish for them."

The show's charm also lay in its educational value. Wade often delved into the local culture and knowledge surrounding the fish he sought, offering viewers a rich, informative experience. His endearing personality and dedication to his craft made the show a hit among diverse audiences.

As one fan aptly put it, "Dude, He IS the 'River Monster'!" This sentiment captures the larger-than-life persona that Jeremy Wade has become, not just as an angler but as a cultural icon in the world of adventure and exploration.

Although 'River Monsters' has ended, the legacy of Jeremy Wade's incredible journey continues to inspire and entertain. With the "main quest" complete, fans eagerly await what new adventures lie ahead for the legendary angler.

I think it took him fewer than that. The later seasons were basically just him finding new reasons to go after fish he already caught. I really enjoyed that show, and I would have liked to have seen a more in depth show that focused a bit more on the local people's knowledge and relationship with whatever fish.

As I've learned from video games, the next step would be to do the same thing 10x more times.

We need to get fish onto other planet’s so Wade can fish for them. Even if he just piloting a fishing drone.

What made this series so much better than its "lads go fishing" counterparts was the fact that Jeremy Wade has a degree in Zoology.

Larnoc

He was reaching a bit toward the end, in one ep he went to nz, smeared himself in something, lay in a creek and tried to get eels to eat him to a dramatic soundtrack

And he also saved the one stranded dude on top of all that
