A recent video titled "Teeny Tiny Itty Bitty Octopus" has captured the hearts of viewers across the internet. This isn't just any ordinary unboxing video; it features the tiniest, most adorable baby octopus arriving safely after a 24-hour journey.

The owner eagerly awaited the package, taking time off work due to the delicate nature of shipping baby octopuses. The priority was to transfer the little creature from its shipping water to a clean tank as quickly as possible. The relief was palpable when the octopus, affectionately referred to by a commenter as "Squishy," was found to be alive and responsive.

The acclimation process began promptly, given the octopus's sensitivity to pH and ammonia levels. As the owner carefully drained the shipping water from a Gatorade bottle and introduced the baby octopus to its new home, viewers were charmed by the little creature's movements—a promising sign of its health.

Comments on the video were overwhelmingly positive. One user humorously noted the importance of having a reputable dealer, while another shared a nostalgic memory of working with octopuses in a pet store, praising their intelligence and unique personalities. There were also whimsical comments about wanting a variety of pets, including a capybara, raccoon, and squirrel, in addition to an octopus.

While most viewers were captivated by the octopus's cuteness, some raised concerns about the ethics of shipping animals and treating them as commodities. Despite these concerns, the little octopus, now a social media sensation, continues to bring joy to those who watch the video.

Tiny octopus finds this adorable. And it's good that the guy has a reputable dealer instead of three manta rays in a trench coat behind a Red Lobster. Just sayin

So now I need a capybara, a raccoon, a squirrel, AND an octopus, and a tank? (And a puppy, and a kitty, and a hamster, and a guinea pig, and a…)

Cool. That hesitance to exit the safety of a completely explored space reminds me of releasing many a mommy jumping spider after her eggs have all hatched, my over-winter caretaking job is done & now it's time to release them all outside & introduce them to the garden. She'll shake the nest a bunch of times, prompting the little ones to disperse because the lid is off now. Then they feel a breeze for their first time & off they go! She always waits another day or 2 saying goodbye to her home.

Gorgeous little octopus!

The octopus was staying in the bottle because it was retreating into the shade of the guy’s hand as perceived shelter. If the bottle mouth was next to the base of the rocks, octo would have left sooner. Anyway, adorable video!

My first job ever was in a pet store’s fish department and we had a few octopus’ and they were my favs. I was always surprised to see how smart they were and how unique their personalities were. What a great little tank you have.
