In a tweet that has caught the attention of thousands, Joe Tidy, a verified Twitter user, has highlighted a significant shortcoming of AI systems. The tweet, posted on June 25, 2024, at 8:11 AM, has already garnered 7,794 views and counting. Joe Tidy’s tweet reads, "It's incredible that AI systems built largely by young men are getting really good at drawing beautiful women. But struggling with basics like fire safety."

The tweet has sparked a wide range of reactions and comments, many of which add humor and critical insights into the issue of AI-generated content. One user humorously pointed out, "It's wind protection for the fire. Jesus, it's like y'all never went camping before." Another comment joked about the depiction, "One of her fingers grew into a stick?"

Another tweet, posted by user "tamaryellin" 10 hours after Joe Tidy’s, echoed the warning with a touch of humor: "Please don't let AI systems teach you how to set up a campsite." The accompanying image showed a young woman with long blonde hair, dressed in a jacket, jeans, and hiking boots, crouched next to a dangerously positioned campfire. The fire was alarmingly close to the entrance of a small tan-colored tent, set against the backdrop of a dense forest.

The image and tweets have sparked a conversation about the capabilities and limitations of AI. Comments ranged from the humorous to the serious, with one user noting, "AI doesn't understand what it makes. People argue this, but it is a fundamental truth. All it does is a really complicated free association coupled with 'when this line is here, there is usually a line over here' type context."

Concerns about the ethical implications and need for regulation also surfaced. A user commented, "I really want regulation for AI. Maybe we can ease into it as we fix some of the biggest ethical issues, but for now I think we need a stop on the entire thing." Another user added, "It's got nothing to do with who built the system and everything to do with what's more prominent in media. Do you think it had more campsite photos or 'pretty women' photos to learn from?"

The humor continued with comments like, "I like her Finglonger," and observations about AI's focus on aesthetics over practicality, "To be fair, it's also a beautiful fire, nestled in the tent, with a sort of seductive, come-hither look."

Joe Tidy’s tweet serves as a playful yet poignant reminder of the current limitations of AI, particularly when it comes to practical tasks like fire safety during camping. As AI continues to evolve, it’s crucial to remember the importance of human oversight and common sense, especially in scenarios where safety is a concern.

joe t***y brings up a good point, ai knows that the most beautiful women are ones with vestigial extra fingers that can rip and tear flesh effectively, instead of something lame like a ring finger and pinkie.

AI doesn't understand what it makes. People argue this, but it is a fundamental truth. All it does is a really complicated free association coupled with "when this line is here, there is usually a line over here" type context. Fundamentally, the best modern generative AI can ever make is plausible sounding b*******. Plausible sounding b******* is more useful than you might think, but if you lose sight of that face, it'll get you into trouble.

"iTs cReAtEd bY yOuNg mEn tHaT iS wHy iT eXcElS oN dRaWiNg pRettY wOmEn" its actually because the dataset it uses, you know, the internet, is filled with filtered photos of women, most posted by themselves on instagram and similar platforms

It's cold, you want her to sleep in the cold you monster?

Naramumu

She's hot... Also the tent is too.
