A recent Twitter conversation has ignited widespread debate over Elon Musk's latest innovation, dubbed the "Celebrity Death Tube." The term, coined by the Twitter user "Mandatory Redistribution Party" (@MandoParty), refers to Musk's car tunnel project that has been criticized for its impractical and potentially dangerous design.

In the viral tweet, @MandoParty highlights the tunnel's tight confines, stating, "The real innovation of Musk's car tunnel is that it's so tight you can't open your doors, you can't pass anyone, and there's no way for an ambulance or fire engine to get in. He has created an LED lit Celebrity Death Tube. Great stuff imo." The tweet has resonated with many, garnering 13,590 notes in the form of likes, reblogs, and comments.

The image accompanying the tweet shows a dark tunnel illuminated by a yellow circle of lights, creating an eerie and confined atmosphere. This visual has drawn comparisons to cartoon scenarios, with user "autumngracy." humorously questioning, "Are we sure this isn’t just a wall painted by Wile E. Coyote?" Another user, "haiimrowie," added, "Now that you mention it, it does look very flat."

The controversy doesn't end there. Numerous users have voiced their disapproval and concerns about the tunnel project in the comments section. One user commented, "The whole point of the car tunnel b******* was to stop cities from building actual useful infrastructure for public transportation, and it worked. The man should be launched into a quarry with a trebuchet." Another user critiqued, "So he (re)invented the subway. But not a good subway. A death subway."

Critics argue that the tunnel's design flaws, such as the inability to accommodate emergency vehicles and the potential for catastrophic incidents like a battery fire, make it a misguided attempt at innovation. A user pointed out, "One flat and that tunnel is a log jam death trap," while another questioned, "I'd ask what happens if a Tesla has a battery fire in this tunnel. But I already know what happens, and it is f***ing horrifying."

Supporters of public transportation have also weighed in, suggesting that the tunnel project was a smoke and mirrors proposal to deter the development of more efficient and accessible public transit systems. One user commented, "It was a b******* smoke and mirrors proposal to get local governments to kill public transportation projects."

Despite the criticisms, some users have attempted to find humor in the situation. A tweet by "autumngracy." likening the tunnel to a Wile E. Coyote cartoon backdrop adds a touch of levity to the discussion.

Elon Musk's car tunnel project continues to be a polarizing topic, with strong opinions on both sides. As the debate rages on, it remains to be seen whether this "Celebrity Death Tube" will become a revolutionary transportation solution or a cautionary tale of misguided innovation.

I like how people said "it's so much cheaper than regular tunnels"... Well of f***ing course it is, it's one tenth as big at half the price.

I'm confident that this was bought up by someone who was subsequently fired for speaking up about the obvious flaws in this absurd publicity stunt meant to block actual public transportation infrastructure.

The idea being that you don't need those things because autopilot takes over. However, even if autopilot was perfect (lol) it can't fix a flat tire. One flat and that tunnel is a log jam death trap.

F***. I'd ask what happens if a Tesla has a battery fire in this tunnel. But I already know what happens, and it is f***ing horrifying.

Elon musk is a contractor at the industrial scale that does the bare minimum.
