I use the sense of touch to change the radio, heater, a/c, all that c***. it helps keep my eyes on the road. I hate seeing so many cars with a tablet controlling everything. I like buttons and knobs, tactile s***

And spare tires for f*** sake

Touchscreens are a f****** blight. Just because it makes it cheaper to produce doesn't mean it should be used. We need tactile feedback. Knobs are f****** amazing for knobby controls. I refuse to buy a kitchen without physical knobs, f*** this "I put down a spatula in a wrong place and now it's screaming at me" nonsense.

I don't want to have to look at the controls of my car to use them, much less navigate a menu.

Oh, your stereo died, but your whole center-dash is one integrated unit? $2900 please. What's that, replace with a 3rd party unit? Hahahah, f*** you, no.

I am an engineer, humans can intuit function from shape and context and automate tasks mechanically if something is aways in the same location. Touch screens disregard this human efficiency in exchange for manufacturing costs and modularity. It is a mistake, one we hopefully learn with minimal fatalities.

While I agree, these numbers are wrong, presumably because they're old. Even sensitive electronics are good up to at least 65c/150f these days.

There’s a reason why aircraft still have mechanical redundancies and many mechanical knobs and switches over a digital dashboard and electronic controls exclusive

Also, don't make the PRND2L a dial. Leave it a stick.

I may just be getting old, but I don't trust newer electronics. In general.
