#2 friendly reminder that matching marrow types is so much harder than blood types. To the point that they actually have a single global database. If you haven't already, please consider registering. They only need a spoonful of blood to know your marrow type. It might save somebody's life one day.

#7 - A recent post was about hospital personnel who worked around the clock to stabilize a premature baby who was not expected to live, and how 6 years later she celebrated her birthday, still alive and well. Someone made a comment about how keeping the child alive as a baby had drawn hospital resources away from other patients, implying that maybe the doctor shouldn't have tried so hard to save someone who was not expected to survive. I thought about that while reading this story.
