One time at my brother's graduation ceremony, they brought out the teachers for the classes that year, they each got a round of applause, then it was Roger's turn, he was retiring as shop teacher after working there 40 years, he had just beaten cancer, he got a standing ovation, many of the parents probably had him as a teacher, everyone who has gone to that school remembers him fondly. If you were late to class you had to tell a d**** joke, and he would always laugh the loudest.
