#12 - hands up who has looked at code the next day and said to themselves 'how the f*** was that ever going to work. I should be flipping burgers'.

#21 for those wondering - JS plays it pretty fast and loose with variable types and the + operator can be used for both addition of numbers and concatenation of strings. If you add a string (a word) to a number it decides both are strings, hence "1" and "11" = "111" but subtraction only works on numbers so it assumes both just be numbers, even if presented as a string. Hence correct math. :)

When it comes to programming, I see myself as either a genius or a complete waste of oxygen.... rarely, if ever, is there an in-between

#12 dev here, no joke this works so well. An interesting recent development in rubber duck debugging is that LLMs like chat gpt work really well for this too. Don't get me wrong, LLMs produce all kinds of mistakes and you shouldn't have them write code for you (not yet at least), but explaining your own code to one? Fantastic!

#31 So one day my internet was out, but it wasn't on the outtage map. So I called up my ISP and they said, "I'll check that out for you. Please hold." And I hear hold music. Suddenly, he takes me off hold, laughing his a** off, saying, "I'm sorry, is your WiFi called 'Silence of the LAN'?"

#38 USB Superposition. All USB Type A plugs are simultaneously in both orientations until observed.

#12 This works for most 'mentation'. Knowing you have a listener makes You listen to what you say much more deeply. A corollary is, " if you can't teach it, you don't really understand it." Which doesn't mean you can't muddle through anyway. Much of my real thinking is not conscious extrapolation or interpolation. What mysteriously bubbles up from the unconscious is often wiser, more novel, and more insightful. Shutting down and doing something else is often where solutions are 'permitted'. 1
