Yes but 80% of those police officers vote GOP. Thats the part I dont get. They are afraid to patrol (at night) and encounter groups of people armed with pistols in their belts. That part I understand. But then they vote GOP, the party that wants to keep the situation that way or tries to make it even worse. THAT is the part where there is a disconnect between realities.

Texas went from some of the strictest requirements in the country for concealed handgun carry to permit-less open carry. Used to you couldn't even have a misdemeanor on your record. Now anyone can carry and yes it is 100% political. The state decided not to even fight the groups that were pushing it.

"People stopped listening to law enforcement". Y'know, maybe if we stop and think REAL HARD, we might think of a few reasons why people (regardless of political alignment) might not entirely trust cops. Gee, what could it be...

Pizza delivery is more dangerous. Why don't we interview delivery guys instead of cops.

Law enforcement is only used by conservatives when they need it. Just like anything else. They only "care about kids" when it has to do with controlling womens bodies, or attacking drag queens. Otherwise they don't give a s*** about kids. Same thing with literally everything else. The military, they are all for it, until they need to provide funding for vets...

Sounds like law enforcement doesn't want to play anymore now that the teams are even. I'm not a gun nut but the police safety is not even on my list of problems with all this. Harder to m***** civilians when they're shooting back. #ACAB

Our office of 8 whole people went through active sh***** training, as local PD was providing the lecture for free. The training, again led by a police officer, was basically an hour long advert for why everyone should conceal carry.

If Republicans listened to and followed expert advice, they wouldn't be Republicans.

"People stopped listening to law enforcement" It's because they serve no real purpose for most people.

I don't think cops are the best group to get policy ideas from.
