"B-b-but what about all that office real estate?!!" What about it? Accept that the world has changed, convert it to housing, take your losses, and let's all move forward ihto the 21st century.

They want to end WFH because in addition to the office and everything that comes with it, there's an entire class of job (middle managers) whose purpose is simply to manage groups of people. You separate those people and give them the tools to communicate themselves, all of a sudden those middle manager jobs start looking like unnecessary expenses.

I was just told I have to go into the office 3x a week after being hired for 1x. It's 90min each way. F*** these people and their anti-worker mentality

This is what we should be fighting about, not culture war b*******.

My company took advantage of the WFH situation forced on them by the pandemic & started hiring from all over the country for the last 3 years. More people applying gave us a wide pool of better qualified people overall, & everyone keeps working from wherever they live. Laptops etc for joiners & leavers are simply send by mail to employee or company HQ. We reduced office space by half after 2 years of internal surveys about WFH. I still like to b**** about my company, but this one they got right.

I’m an essential employee. That’s why my pay increase this year didn’t even cover inflation. But hey, record profits!

I work in agriculture, so being on-site is requisite, but if you're a desk jockey of any stripe, I fully f***** support WFH. F*** traffic, exhaust, parking, offices, desks, and micromanaging self-important blowhards. The last one being precisely why CEOs care about where you work. Gotta increase productivity by breathing your c***-smelling breath all over the drones!! L**** I hate managers.

There's also a bit of education to do regarding employees that can WFH feeling the need to come to the office to see people IRL. I find it so sad that people require this social aspect from a job. I'm not even talking about people who's job it is to see people, I'm talking about devs that have nothing but work in their lives. Capitalism is a f***

They got together and dis some layoffs to scare you all back in line. And it worked.

TimeFoDat

Every day I come into the office and sit alone, never physically talking to anyone all day. They insisted I come back to work but now that I'm here, nobody ever wants to actually see my a**. Sometimes I leave at like Noon and nobody knows or gives a s***.
