Gonna be honest the sentence "federal prisons in America require that states keep their prisons at maximum occupancy at all times" doesn't make sense to me fed prisons and state prisons are different things. I need a source or law on this

Voting in free and fair elections is a basic human right. Stripping prisoners of the right to vote should not be tolerated.

Prisoners can vote in Maine, Vermont, and Washington DC.

Sweden here. Being in prison does not impede your right to vote. You do however have to vote through an intermediate since you can't walk to a polling place but you can absolutely vote. Please USA, get going and catch up to the rest of the world.

well ive learned theres an exciting new facet of the american prison system

Not allowing prisoners to vote, but still counting them in the census, is a great way to reframe the Three-Fifths Compromise.

Huh. So political power derived from captive population still a going concern. At least a prisoner isn't worth 3/5 of a free citizen now, so that's progress right? Right?
