In a high-stakes political duel, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are actively campaigning in key swing states as the presidential election looms closer. With the political landscape heating up, the Republican National Committee (RNC), powered by Trump's influence, has launched a flurry of election-related lawsuits in nearly half of the states in the U.S., focusing on voter roll maintenance and the broader spectrum of election administration.
Danielle Alvarez, a senior adviser to the RNC and the Trump campaign, has underscored the importance of these lawsuits as a centerpiece of the RNC's strategy in 2023. In response to these legal maneuvers, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is pouring tens of millions of dollars into creating a voter protection operation to challenge the RNC's actions.
The escalation in election litigation is a direct aftermath of the contentious 2020 presidential election, marked by Trump's refusal to concede defeat and the pandemic-induced changes in voting processes. Michigan has become a battleground with the RNC alleging improper voter roll upkeep, a claim that has attracted skepticism due to its reliance on dubious data. The League of Women Voters, concerned about possible voter disenfranchisement, has filed to intervene in the Michigan lawsuit.
Meanwhile, the RNC has celebrated a legal victory in Pennsylvania, where a federal appeals court ruled in its favor concerning the counting of absentee ballots with incorrect dates. The lawsuits continue with additional cases in Wisconsin and Arizona, targeting absentee voting protocols, ballot drop boxes, and challenging the state’s elections manual, respectively. The RNC's lawsuit in Mississippi seeks to prevent the counting of mail ballots arriving after Election Day, irrespective of the postmark.
Amidst this legal blitz, United Sovereign Americans, led by CEO Marly Hornik, is preparing to file lawsuits in 23 states, including against the Maryland State Board of Elections. The RNC's legal team has been involved in over 80 lawsuits across 23 states, revealing the extensive scope of their legal strategy.
Since the lifting of a federal consent decree in 2018, the RNC has ramped up its challenges against voter verification and ballot security measures. RNC Chairman Michael Whatley, alongside Lara Trump, has restructured the RNC's election integrity efforts, appointing directors in 13 states. Christina Bobb, known for espousing unfounded allegations of election fraud in 2020, leads the RNC's election integrity department.
Despite these intense political maneuvers, voter interest in the 2024 presidential election is surprisingly tepid, with the majority holding negative views of both Biden and Trump. Biden has managed to narrow Trump's lead to just a 2-point margin in head-to-head polls, showing differing strengths for each candidate. Top voter concerns revolve around inflation, immigration, and the economy, with only a third attributing the improving economic situation to Biden.
The potential independent candidacy of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. could shake up the electoral dynamics, particularly as these developments coincide with Trump's criminal trial in New York. Biden's job performance approval rating stands at 42%, with a disapproval rating of 56%. His ratings have improved among Democrats and Black voters but remain low with Latinos, young voters, and independents. Comparatively, Biden's approval rating is lower than that of past presidents who were not re-elected.
On the issues, Trump outpaces Biden on crisis management, track record, and handling inflation. With inflation and the cost of living as the top concerns for voters, the NBC News poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, shows the gravity of these issues.
Threats and harassment towards election officials have risen since the 2020 election, causing a high turnover rate and heightened security measures. Tina Barton from Michigan and former sheriff Justin Smith of Colorado are providing national training for election workers on threat response. Close collaboration between law enforcement and election officials is now crucial, as underscored by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael D. Shea.
Security threats to election offices have surged, evidenced by incidents such as letters laced with fentanyl sent to election offices. While law enforcement typically maintains a distance to protect First Amendment and voting rights, the current climate necessitates a more proactive stance to ensure secure and fair elections.
Conservative Bias:
In a clear case of Democrats desperately clinging to power by any means necessary, President Joe Biden and his cronies are shamelessly attempting to rig the upcoming election by throwing millions of dollars into so-called "voter protection" schemes. These are nothing but thinly veiled efforts to undermine the integrity of our elections by fighting the righteous lawsuits brought by the Republican National Committee (RNC), which are simply aimed at ensuring that every vote is legal and legitimate. The left's baseless skepticism and obstruction of proper voter roll maintenance are a direct attack on the American principle of fair play, and their disdain for the rule of law is on full display as they resist common-sense election integrity measures. Meanwhile, the RNC, under the steadfast leadership of true patriots like Michael Whatley and Lara Trump, is heroically battling to safeguard our democracy from the Democrats' relentless attempts to dilute the votes of honest Americans with their fraudulent practices. It's clear that the left will stop at nothing to maintain their tenuous grip on power, even if it means t****ling the Constitution and the will of the people.
Liberal Bias:
In an egregious display of authoritarianism, the Republican National Committee (RNC), under the corrupt influence of former President Donald Trump, is waging a war against democracy by filing a barrage of frivolous lawsuits across the nation. These lawsuits are a blatant attempt to suppress the votes of millions of Americans, particularly targeting communities of color and underprivileged voters. The GOP's so-called "election integrity" crusade, led by individuals like Christina Bobb who are notorious for spreading debunked conspiracy theories, is nothing more than a coordinated attack to disenfranchise voters and undermine confidence in our electoral system. The Republican victory in Pennsylvania is a dark omen, signaling their intent to strip away voting rights and discard ballots on technicalities. Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is heroically investing in protecting the fundamental right to vote, battling against the RNC's sinister tactics. The Republicans' relentless assault on voting rights, coupled with the dangerous escalation of threats against election officials, reveals their true agenda: to subvert the will of the people and steal elections through intimidation and legal manipulation.
