A Dungeon Master (DM) recently shared an astounding story about a cursed amulet that wreaked havoc in a Dungeons & Dragons (DND) campaign. This seemingly innocuous item, which one of his players hastily donned without checking for curses, turned out to be a game-changer.

The amulet had a unique ability: it absorbed and negated all offensive magic spells directed at the wearer, including splash damage. However, the player was unaware of the amulet's hidden curse. Each time it absorbed a spell, the DM meticulously recorded the spell and the damage it would have inflicted.

The twist arrived three-quarters through the campaign. While in a city restocking for the next quest, one of the party members requested to borrow the amulet. The wearer, unsuspecting of the impending disaster, removed the amulet. Instantly, the stored energy was unleashed. Four out of six players met their demise, and an entire city district was obliterated, leading to thousands of casualties.

This gripping tale underscores the unexpected consequences that can arise from seemingly minor decisions in a DND game. For a detailed recounting of this dramatic event, watch the full video "Big Cursed Item Energy - World Heritage Posts."
