Angelina Jolie recently opened up about her intensive preparation for her role in the film 'Maria' at the Venice Film Festival. The renowned actress shared her journey of learning to sing opera, which spanned over seven months of rigorous training. Working under acclaimed director Pablo Larraín, Jolie emphasized the high standards and dedication required for the role.

"Everybody here knows I was terribly nervous," Jolie admitted. She described the demanding yet rewarding process of working with Larraín, who insists on thorough preparation. "Because when you work with Pablo, you can't do anything by half. He demands in a most wonderful way that you really do the work and you really learn and train."

Jolie's first public singing experience was a memorable one, filled with anxiety. She recalled her sons being present to offer support and even help block the door to ensure privacy. "My first time singing, I remember being so nervous. My sons were there and they helped to block the door that nobody else was coming in. And I was shaky."

Larraín's approach to easing Jolie into the role was also highlighted. "Pablo, in his decency, started me in a small room and ended me in La Scala. So he gave me time to grow," she noted, reflecting on the gradual progression that helped her build confidence.

The actress's commitment to embodying her character and overcoming her fears is truly inspiring. Jolie's candidness about her journey offers a glimpse into the dedication required to master such a challenging art form.
