Tracking a Scammer: Pleasant Green’s Ingenious AirTag Operation
Updated Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 12:00 AM CDT
In a riveting new video, Pleasant Green takes viewers on a suspense-filled journey as he uses an Apple AirTag to track a scammer. The video, titled "I Mailed An AirTag to a Scammer!", showcases a meticulously planned operation aimed at exposing fraudulent activities.
The story begins with Pleasant Green detailing the typical modus operandi of scammers, who instruct their victims to hide cash between the pages of a book or magazine, then wrap it in tinfoil or bubble wrap. Green takes it a step further by taping an AirTag to the inside of the envelope to track the package's journey.
After shipping the package overnight to Austin, Texas, Green follows its progress closely. The package makes its way through various checkpoints, including a regional FedEx facility and an airport, before arriving in Austin. However, the scammer’s mule isn't home to receive it, resulting in the package being held at a Walgreens store for two days.
The suspense heightens as Green receives a notification that the mule has signed for the package. The next phase involves Green collaborating with Morgan, instructing him to check the tracking and follow up with the mule. Morgan assures Green that a video of the package being opened is on its way.
The moment of truth arrives as the mule is seen on video opening the package. Interestingly, the mule sends two videos: the first showing the package being opened and the second showing the magazine pages, but mysteriously, there is no cash to be found. Green speculates that the mule may have tampered with the video to make it appear seamless, yet the mystery of the missing money remains unresolved.
Green blurs the mule's face in the video, hoping this experience will encourage the mule to turn his life around and contribute positively to society. The video provides a captivating look into the lengths to which scammers will go and highlights the innovative methods used to track and expose them.
