A recent visit to a National Park bathroom revealed a humorous and puzzling scene that has caught the attention of hikers and internet users alike. The image, which has gone viral on Reddit, depicts an unusual setup in a restroom, featuring two cans of Progresso soup balanced on a horizontal metal grab bar.

The restroom, with its white painted cinder block walls showing signs of wear and chipping, is not what one would typically expect. The grab bar, usually meant for support, has become an impromptu shelf for the soup cans. Above the grab bar, a large black dispenser for jumbo rolls of toilet paper labeled "Centrefeed" adds to the mix. On the opposite side, another grab bar is positioned above a makeshift toilet, fashioned from a plastic seat and lid attached to a white plastic bucket.

This peculiar setup has sparked various reactions from the online community. One user humorously suggested that a hiker reached the end of his trek and decided to bless the next trail-goer with some Progresso soup. Other comments ranged from practical advice on using the cans like a "squatty p****" to speculating that the soup cans were left as a form of "trail magic"—a common practice of leaving extra supplies for fellow hikers.

The discussion also highlighted the etiquette and practicality of leaving such items in communal spaces. While some appreciated the gesture, others emphasized the importance of placing these items where they would not attract wildlife or cause confusion. The overall consensus was a mix of amusement and practicality, with a reminder to always close the lid in a pit toilet.

This unusual discovery in a National Park bathroom serves as a light-hearted reminder of the unexpected and sometimes humorous moments one can encounter while exploring the great outdoors. Whether it's a simple act of kindness or a quirky mishap, it certainly adds to the adventure of hiking and the sense of community among nature enthusiasts.

It’s common for people to leave extra supplies that they don’t use. I just wish they didn’t leave them where they did. I mean I’ll still eat them, b*** I’m gonna wonder

Easy. It's a snack. while you take a long s*** you can eat cold canned soup.

Often people end up with more food than they need and will leave it behind if they don't want to travel further with it (e.g. flying across an ocean with soup seems silly). People leave these things in communal spaces and if available somewhere where it won't attract wildlife. I've seen this sort of thing elsewhere in national parks, so that's my guess.

Close the lid!!! Seriously !

Leaving food for hikers is called trail magic. Sometimes people try to be nice to each other, even if it looks weird. Given the location, thank goodness they only left cans!
