Cats have a unique way of understanding personal space, and a recent four-panel comic strip by the artist Seebangnow perfectly encapsulates this quirky behavior. Titled "Cats and Personal Space," the comic humorously portrays the double standards cats often exhibit when it comes to boundaries.

In the first panel, an orange tabby cat is shown sleeping peacefully, with the text caption "CATS:" above it. The cat's relaxed state is indicated by "ZZZ" above its head, while a person reaches out a hand towards the sleeping feline.

The second panel captures the cat's reaction to being disturbed. Now awake, the cat pushes the hand away with an annoyed expression, and a speech bubble from the cat reads, "PLEASE RESPECT MY PERSONAL SPACE." This scene is all too familiar to cat owners who have experienced their pets' finicky nature.

Transitioning to the third panel, the caption changes to "ALSO CATS:". Here, the same orange tabby cat is shown leaning over the edge of a bed towards a sleeping person, with only their face and part of the blanket visible. The juxtaposition is immediately clear, setting up the punchline.

The fourth and final panel reveals the cat comfortably settled on top of the sleeping person's stomach. The person remains asleep, while the cat appears quite content, illustrating the humorous contradiction in cats' behavior—they demand personal space but often invade that of humans.

This comic strip has resonated with many Reddit users, sparking a wave of nostalgic and funny comments. One user reminisced about their childhood cat, who would sleep on their chest with his face resting on their chin. Another shared a similar experience with their current cat, who initially would sit up***ht on their chest and stare at their face upon waking up.

Cats truly are "masters of the art of 'pet me, don’t pet me,'" as one commenter aptly put it. Others echoed this sentiment, noting that cats often claim all personal space for themselves and expect their human companions to comply.

The artist, Seebangnow, has captured the essence of feline behavior in a relatable and entertaining way. This comic strip not only provides a good laugh but also serves as a reminder of the delightful and often contradictory nature of our beloved feline friends.

For those searching for a lighthearted take on cats and their peculiar relationship with personal space, Seebangnow's comic strip is a must-see. It's a perfect example of how humor can bridge the gap between human and animal behaviors, making us appreciate our pets even more.

My childhood cat would sleep on my chest with his face basically resting on my chin every single night. On one hand, I’m glad he decided to put his face on my face and not the other way around. On the other hand, it’s a little disconcerting to wake up in the middle of the night and have a black cat staring at your face from a few inches away. He was the best cat though, I’m so hesitant to get a cat as an adult because I worry that they’d never be as wonderful as that one.

A couple of times when I first adopted my current cat I woke up to her sitting completely up***ht on my chest, staring at my face. Idk what she was even thinking lol. Nowadays she likes to wear herself as a hat on my head at night, taking over most of the pillow for herself and sticking her feet in my face. But god forbid I lean near her weird when she's not feeling it

You can pet them... unless they’re in a 'do not disturb' zone

That's because it's all their personal space. All of it.

Our cats do seem proud of their b*******s for some reason - and put them in our faces if able.

That's like if cats were like: "Humans always want to pet me but when I bite them on the a** they suddenly don't want to pet me"
