The world of reality TV has a new star, and it’s not another Kardashian. Iceland’s unique and soul-stirring show, "Keeping up with the Kattarshians," has captured the hearts of viewers with its 24-hour live broadcast of kittens living in a tiny model house. Created in collaboration with the Icelandic Cat Protection Society, this charming show ran from 2017 to 2018 and left a lasting impression on animal lovers worldwide.

The show featured a rotating cast of adorable kittens rescued from an animal shelter. Once a kitten found its forever home, it was replaced by another in need. The original stars included Guðni, Ronja, Briet, and Stubbur, who entertained audiences with their playful antics and endearing personalities. Cameras were strategically placed around the miniature house to ensure no precious moment was missed, from holiday celebrations to cozy naps in their tiny bunk beds.

An image from the show perfectly encapsulates its charm. The image shows a kitten with a mix of white and gray fur, sitting in a white, claw-footed bathtub. The miniature bathroom is adorned with patterned floral wallpaper, framed pictures, and windows, creating a cozy and playful atmosphere. A small toilet and a black chair add to the scene’s charm, while the wooden flooring enhances the overall aesthetic. The natural setting outside the window further adds to the idyllic scene, making it a perfect snapshot of the whimsical world of "Keeping up with the Kattarshians."

Fans from around the globe have shared their enthusiasm for the show. One user humorously noted, "On the plus side, if you want to take a break while watching it, you can always put it on paws." Others have expressed a desire to stream the show in their countries, although the live stream has been turned off since 2018 after all the kittens were adopted.

Despite its short run, "Keeping up with the Kattarshians" has left a significant impact, offering a refreshing and adorable alternative to traditional reality TV. For those who missed it, similar content can be found on YouTube channels like Kitten Academy, which continues the tradition of live-streaming kitten antics.

In a world saturated with reality TV, Iceland’s "Keeping up with the Kattarshians" stands out as a delightful and soul-stirring show that provided valuable content and endless entertainment. Its legacy lives on in the memories of those who watched and the lives of the kittens who found their forever homes.

You think Japanese TV is weird. Iceland and Norway take the cake. One of the most popular shows in Norway are nature train rides. Like an 8 hour long uninterrupted train ride. They call it "slow tv". The record is like a 130 hour uninterrupted ship voyage. It was a huge hit lol
