In a world where misplacing items is a common occurrence, the comic strip 'Whatchamathingy' by Litterboxcomics LLC humorously illustrates this relatable scenario through the antics of anthropomorphic cats. The vibrant six-panel comic, which has gone viral on Reddit, resonates with many who find themselves constantly misplacing items they thought they had cleverly stored.

The comic begins with a yellow cat with purple stripes, donning a light purple top, holding a smartphone in one paw while speaking to a black and white cat with yellow eyes, clad in a blue shirt. Set in a cozy kitchen with food on the table, the yellow cat urgently asks, "HAVE YOU SEEN THE WHAT-CHA-MA-THINGY?" The black and white cat, clearly puzzled, responds with, "THE WHAT?!"

As the yellow cat tries to jog its memory, it places a paw to its chin and ponders hard, much to the confusion of the concerned black and white cat. "Y'KNOW! THE THING!" the yellow cat insists, struggling to describe the missing object.

The scene then shifts to a small room where a purple and orange striped tail is seen disappearing behind a door in the background. The yellow cat's head is shown in close-up as it continues, "THE THING THAT DOES THE STUFF--" Suddenly, the yellow cat's eyes widen in shock, dramatically realizing something and exclaims, "OH NO!"

In a moment of sudden recall, the yellow cat appears relieved. With a blue background, it holds a scroll or piece of paper, confidently stating, "I REMEMBER WHERE I PUT IT...WHERE?!" The comic humorously transitions to a voice from off-screen answering, "...SOMEWHERE..."

In the final panel, the yellow cat, now looking clever and calm, taps confidently on its smartphone while the black and white cat stands wide-eyed in shock. Conceding to the situation, the black and white cat declares, "OH, IT'S GONE FOREVER THEN!" The yellow cat, unfazed, replies, "CLEVER! --ALREADY ORDERING A NEW ONE."

This comic encapsulates the universal frustration of misplacing items and the often futile attempts to store them in 'clever' places. The comments section of the Reddit post is filled with relatable anecdotes from users. One user humorously recounts, "Years ago, I put some superglue up in a totally obvious spot I will remember later. Still haven't found it." Another user shares a similar experience with spare headphones, stating, "Ironically, because of that, I remember what the clever place was, but I have no idea where those headphones are now."

The comic's relatable humor has struck a chord with many, making it a delightful piece for anyone who has ever experienced the frustration of misplaced items. The artwork by Litterboxcomics LLC not only entertains but also serves as a humorous reminder that sometimes, the best solution is just to order a new one.

Yeah. Years ago, I put some superglue up in a totally obvious spot I will remember later. Still haven't found it.

I feel like most people can strongly relate to this one. I just recently actively and violently restrained myself from putting my spare headphones someplace clever. Ironically, because of that, I remember what the clever place was, but I have no idea where those headphones are now.

When eventually I find the whatchamathingy after I use it I put it in the first place I searched for it.

When i was 12 my dad hid my 3ds, because he caught me playing it at night. It took six years to find it again, funnily enough it was a day after my 18th birthday so i got an interesting delayed present.

Deivedux

I don't get it.

The other day I put extra valve caps for my car tyres in a cooler bag that I'm storing underneath the sink. As I was packing it away I told myself that I will forget where i put them when I randomly need them 2 years from now. And I will.
