Reminds me of the time I replied to a list of job adverts at the police station. It was a hot day when I got to the station, and as I pulled up there was a hole in the sidewalk and some construction workers were getting their tools out, so I had to go round the back. The bell wasn't working, so I knocked. No answer. I knocked again. Nothing. I knocked again, harder and harder, pounding away until something suddenly released. Inside, an officer adjusted his sunglasses and looked at me. He raised an eyebrow. "Are you here about the jobs?" he asked. "I'm D*** Udown," I said, "and I could fill every opening you have." The officer adjusted his sunglasses and we looked at the construction workers out the front. "Those guys have been taking it in turns, going at that hole like jackhammers. I don't need to tell you this, D***, but it's left us with something of a mess on our hands." I looked at the police officer, and he looked at me. And we both knew I'd fit right in.
