In a scene that could easily be mistaken for a comedy sketch, a white sedan finds itself in a precarious situation in a McDonald's parking lot. The car, having backed up into the curb, managed to knock over a metallic pole with a sign reading "No Parking Fire Lane." The vehicle's trunk is open, revealing a man examining the aftermath of this minor accident, while another person sits in the rear side of the car, visible through the open window.

The picturesque suburban setting, complete with blue skies and scattered clouds, adds an ironic touch to the chaos. The McDonald's logo stands prominently in the background, surrounded by several parked cars, including a gray vehicle and an empty parking slot. Yellow and white striped markings on the pavement near the car indicate a pedestrian crossing or restricted parking zone, making the situation even more laughable.

Reddit users were quick to jump on the humor of the situation. One user quipped, "He's the instructor now," while another sarcastically commented, "Judging by the other drivers we contend with daily... sure, he passed." The humor didn't stop there, with another user joking, "my friend in high school almost killed her driving instructor and that dude passed her anyway 🥴😂."

The mishap even sparked some nostalgia, as one commenter shared their own driving test horror story involving a telephone pole and a very strict instructor. This particular user recalled, "I hit a telephone pole on my first attempt at taking the driving test... I clearly overshot putting it in drive and tried to correct, but didn't notice I had again overshot and put it back in reverse."

Other users added to the hilarity with comments like, "Can't park there," and "He passed the curb. Might not have passed anything else." The scene was also reminiscent of pop culture, with one user referencing SpongeBob SquarePants: "You're good, you're good, you're good."

Despite the minor accident, the humor and relatability of the situation captured the attention of many, making it a viral moment on Reddit. Whether the driver eventually passed their test remains a mystery, but one thing is for sure: this image has provided plenty of laughs and a reminder to always double-check those gears.

I hit a telephone pole on my first attempt at taking the driving test. I was driving my dad's truck, which I'd never riven before (an obviously bad choice in hindsight). The gear shifter was on the steering column and I kept overshooting the gear I was aiming for.. I was doing my 3-point turn and when I backed up the sun was shining through the backglass onto the dashboard so I couldn't actually see what gear I was in. I clearly overshot putting it in drive and tried to correct, but didn't notice I had again overshot and put it back in reverse. It was fairly gentle, but verrrrry obvious that I backed into the pole. The instructor had already been very a*** about a variety of other things (no radio on, insisted I turn the AC off despite it being 90 outside---claiming both were distractions---and insisted I didn't spend long enough on my visual inspection before getting in, etc...) so there was no doubt I had failed at this point. After that I started driving "normal"---5 over the limit, I turned on a yellow that I probably should've waited on, and waited for a tractor trailer to go even though I had the right-of-way. She kept critiquing my drive and I finally told her to give it a rest, I couldn't fail any more than I already had, so I turned the radio on and dropped her back off at the DMV. She told me I needed to come in and get my results and I just laughed and drove off. Next test I had a super cool instructor and passed with a perfect score. Still, my sister has never let me live down hitting the pole.
