In a recent viral Reddit video titled "I Ran Over a Wasps Nest," viewers are taken on a wild ride of unexpected encounters with one of nature's most feared insects. The video, which starts with a simple "Honk Honk" and ends with a grateful "Thanks for watching," has sparked a flurry of reactions and personal stories from users who have faced similar perilous situations.

One user recounts a harrowing experience from their teenage years working at a golf course. While hammering a wedge for a sign, they inadvertently disturbed a wasp nest, leading to a sting inside their ear canal that felt like an eternity. This traumatic event left them with a lasting fear, triggering PTSD whenever a wasp flies nearby.

Another user shared their experience at 15 when they hit a yellow jacket nest. The stings felt like fire, and they had to strip under freezing water in the shower to get rid of the wasps that had crawled under their clothes. This story elicited a nostalgic response from another user who reminisced about their father’s unconventional method of dealing with wasp nests using M80s, an explosive memory that still brings a smile to their face.

Amidst the tales of woe, a humorous comment stands out: "Ohh Bob Saget!" This unexpected reference to the late comedian adds a touch of levity to the otherwise painful anecdotes.

Another user shared a dramatic account of how their husband went into anaphylactic shock after being stung by yellow jackets, leading them to discover immunotherapy for stinging insect allergies. This highlights the serious health risks associated with wasp stings.

The video also prompted users to share practical advice. One user recommended running 300 feet to escape a swarm, a tip they learned after being stung over 15 times. Another user, who mows grass for a living, emphasized that bald-faced hornets are the worst among stinging insects.

A particularly vivid story involved a user who, while mowing the lawn, disturbed a yellow jacket nest. The ensuing chaos saw them stripping in the shower, battling wasps that followed them indoors, and ultimately burning the nest at night. Their cat even joined the fray, catching a wasp but getting stung in the process.

The video has clearly struck a chord with viewers, prompting a mix of nostalgia, humor, and practical advice. It serves as a reminder of the unexpected dangers lurking in everyday tasks and the importance of being prepared for nature's surprises. The stories shared by users not only entertain but also educate, providing valuable insights into dealing with wasp encounters.

In conclusion, "I Ran Over a Wasps Nest" is more than just a video; it's a catalyst for shared experiences and community support. Whether it's reminiscing about a father's daring exploits or learning how to escape a swarm, the video has brought people together in their common battle against these fierce insects. So, next time you hear a "Honk Honk," be prepared for a wild ride!

I was hammering a wedge for a sign that was wobbly at a golf course where I worked in my teens. There was a nest down there, and one of those b******s lodged himself inside my ear cannel and stung me repeatedly for what seemed like an eternity before I was able to get him out. I have PTSD from it when I hear one fly past my head.

Been there, done that. I was 15 and hit a yellow jacket nest. Felt like I was on fire. I ran inside and jumped in the shower. They were under my shirt and jeans as I stripped under the freezing water. 😖

Man.. I really wish my pops was still alive. He used to stick M80s either next to or down into a wasps nest. Jesus Christ.. I can still remember being 12, hiding in the garage looking out the window as my Dad skips over to a wasp nest, lights it and stabs that f***er into the ground all while hooting and hollering full sprint back to the garage. We’d watch em explode, him drinking his Summer Shandy and me and my Otterpops. Love ya dad.

Happened to me a couple weeks ago!! Yellow jackets. Three stings from those vicious little f@ckers 😣 I'm still a bit swollen. But I murdered the whole nest with some 30 foot spray from Lowe's 🤣

Happened to my husband (yellow jackets) and he went into anaphylactic shock. That led to us learning that there is immunotherapy for stinging insect allergies.

I mow grass for a living and have for many many years. I've been stung & bit by just about everything. Bald-faced hornets are the worst by far though.

They say the mower is still going to this day…
