In a recent Reddit post titled "My machine at work got a new sticker today," an image showcasing a section of a metal surface adorned with various stickers has garnered significant attention. The blue-gray metal surface, marked with a few scratches and spots of rust, serves as a backdrop for a collection of humorous and cautionary stickers.

The most prominent sticker on the surface is a caution-style label with a black and yellow striped background that reads, "MEASURE TWICE CUT ONCE." This classic safety reminder has sparked a series of comments from users, sharing their favorite workplace safety stickers and anecdotes. One user amusingly noted, "High voltage will kill you and it'll hurt the entire time," highlighting the grim humor often found in industrial settings.

Another popular sticker mentioned reads, "Not to be operated by f***wits," echoing the sentiment of many who work with potentially dangerous machinery. The humor continues with stickers like, "Don’t dumb here. No dumb area," and the rather poignant, "This machine does not know the difference between (wood, metal, etc..) and flesh, nor does it care."

The image also features a partially visible sticker with Asian characters and another with a large letter "H." To the right of the caution label is a graphic design sticker featuring a cat with the text "GIVE RA**..." unfortunately cut off. Users expressed their desire for this specific sticker, with one stating, "I want that cat sticker."

The metal surface itself shows signs of wear, with five evenly spaced holes, three of which display signs of wear around the edges. Four screws are visible, securing some parts of the surface, indicating regular use and maintenance.

One user shared a personal story about a friend's dad who was a home builder. He would often be seen running the saw to reduce waste or sweeping to reduce clutter and collect all the scrap, emphasizing the importance of safety and organization on the job site. This anecdote resonates with the sticker's message, urging workers to "Measure twice, cut once."

The Reddit community's reactions to the image highlight the blend of humor and serious safety considerations in industrial environments. Comments like, "In Russia we say 'measure 7 times, cut once,' does not help," and "Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with an axe," showcase the universal nature of workplace safety concerns.

Overall, the image and its accompanying stickers have sparked a lively discussion about safety, humor, and the everyday realities of working with machinery. The blend of cautionary advice and lighthearted humor serves as a reminder of the importance of safety in the workplace, making this Reddit post a hit among users.

“Not to be operated by f***wits” “Don’t dumb here. No dumb area” And my personal favorite: “This machine does not know the difference between (wood, metal, etc..) and flesh, nor does it care.”

My friend’s dad growing up was a home builder. He would have 5 or 6 homes going up any given time and he would spend a couple hours every day at every site. I never saw him on location when he wasn’t running the saw to reduce waste or sweeping to reduce clutter and collect all the scrap. He said if his foremen saw him collecting pennies they’d pay attention to his dollars. Last I heard he was too old to read a tape but he’s still sweeping.
