In a recent Reddit post that has garnered significant attention, the pricing strategy for Kraft pean********* at Walmart has left many scratching their heads. The image in question vividly displays a stack of Kraft pean********* jars, each proudly bearing the iconic green label with the Kraft logo and an adorable bear. However, it's the sale sign that has ignited a flurry of comments and reactions.

The prominently placed sale sign is a spectacle in itself. Topped with a yellow background and red text, it features a small sunburst icon and the bold proclamation of “Multi Save.” Below this, the sign indicates a deal of 2 jars for $12, or $5.77 each if purchased individually. This peculiar pricing has sparked a wave of reactions from Reddit users, with many questioning the math behind this supposed deal.

One user humorously commented, "That's how you make a profitable business, kids," while another bluntly pointed out, “no thank you... and bad math.” The confusion continued as another commenter observed, "Wal Mart shoppers should be careful, because many of their grocery items have a higher unit price when you buy the larger size package, which we tend to assume is the 'economy size,' since it virtually always has worked that way at any other retailer ever."

Amidst the jokes and jabs, a merchandiser who frequents various stores, including Walmart, chimed in with some intriguing insights. "That doesn't look like an official Walmart sign, despite having their symbol on it. It's not the normal configuration of their signs, it's not posted in the required place for one of their signs, it does not have an item number or UPC on it anywhere, and from what I can tell it's not even their standard sign cardstock and layout. If this is really in a Walmart store and wasn't made and placed by whoever took the photo, they're breaking several company rules, at the very least. A Regional Manager would have a fit over it, I suspect."

The discussion took an amusing turn with comments like "Just pay separately then, easy LPT," and “That will stop bulk buying.” Another user, referencing the iconic brand, added, "Just wanna say, that's the best Pean********* in the world."

The perplexing pricing strategy wasn't an isolated incident. One user recounted a similar experience, “I was just there and saw 1 can of chef boyardee pasta for $1, 4 pack $4.48.” Another chimed in with an example involving baking flour, “I have seen baking flour at $3.88 each but Multibuy savings at 2 for $8.00.”

While the post has sparked a mix of confusion, humor, and criticism, it also serves as a reminder to shoppers to stay vigilant and double-check prices. Whether this was an oversight or a deliberate strategy, Walmart's Kraft pean********* pricing has certainly made waves online. For now, it seems the best advice comes from a user who succinctly put it, "Fun with math!"

Walmart shoppers, take note and keep an eye out for these curious pricing anomalies the next time you’re on your grocery run.

As a merchandiser who does jobs in all kinds of stores including Walmart, I'm going to say that doesn't look like an official Walmart sign, despite having their symbol on it. A Regional Manager would have a fit over it, I suspect.

Well at least this isn't very sneaky... Wal Mart shoppers should be careful, because many of their grocery items have a higher unit price when you buy the larger size package, which we tend to assume is the "economy size", since it virtually always has worked that way at any other retailer ever.
