A recent post on Reddit has sparked a lively debate, drawing sharp comparisons between a sleek, stainless steel trash can and the much-talked-about Tesla Cybertruck. The image in question features a tall, rectangular trash can with a modern design, slanted top, and an opening flap, placed in the corner of a tastefully tiled room.

Reddit user comments vividly bring the humor and skepticism to life:

"How dare you compare the two. One is literal trash and the other is made to contain trash," quips one user, highlighting the controversial nature of the Cybertruck's design. Another user points out, "The build quality is actually much higher," likely referring to the trash can's sturdy construction over the Cybertruck's mixed reviews.

Skeptics are quick to dismiss the comparison, with one user noting, "I'm sorry, but this is clearly not a Cybertruck. There is no rust on it," accompanied by a link to a Wired article discussing potential rust issues with the Cybertruck's stainless steel body.

Visual critiques also abound, as another user comments on the apparent flaws in the Cybertruck's design: "You really can see the gaps between the metal parts, can't you? There's some material between them, but a raccoon would make quick work of that."

The humor continues with remarks like, "Only way to confirm it's a real Cybertruck is to check the bin for severed fingers," referencing the controversial claims about the Cybertruck's safety features.

While some users appreciated the trash can's practical design, "The product in this photo is effective, elegant, and reliable. I see no resemblance to the Cybertruck," others found the comparison insulting to the trash can itself, "What an insult to the garbage can."

Despite the divided opinions, the post has certainly garnered attention, with one user humorously noting, "I've seen three Cybertrucks in the last two weeks. The first was bronze, the second was aluminum, and the third was green camouflage with a shark face on the front of the sides like some kind of fighter jet."

Whether the image is of a Cybertruck or a well-designed trash can, it has certainly captivated Reddit users, sparking a debate that highlights both humor and the ongoing controversy surrounding Tesla's ambitious vehicle. For those curious about the image, it presents a stainless steel trash can against a stylishly tiled wall, drawing unexpected comparisons with one of the most talked-about vehicles of recent times.

I finally saw one in person the other day and couldn't believe how much uglier it was in person.

Whenever I see one in the wild I want to ask the driver “what does it feel like knowing that everyone who sees you thinks you are an idiot?” I mean, the Aztek had defenders and actual cool features. The El Camino made it into music videos. There are people who think the various cube shaped cars are cool. No one thinks anything good about the cyber truck.

Hm. You really can see the gaps between the metal parts, can't you? There's some material between them, but a racoon would make quick work of that. Door doesn't quite line up with the frame, on some sides. And I know the pic isn't super hi-res but I think I can see some pitting. All bad rumors verified.
